Amazing information, with my bird , Jake, he will bite freinds and family, they think he's mean, NOT TRUE AT ALL, IF I have him out they immediately want to hold him on their hand or arm, he doesn't want that because he doesn't know their intent, and or he doesn't want them near me, now I of my boyfriends daughters new what your friend did, she asked him to come to her and slowly he came off the high playgym little by little she would offer him a treat, I wasn't paying attention and after bout 10 minutes he climbed down and climbed on her arm, I was so amazed and asked her how she got. him to get on her and then she told me what she had done, she is the only one that has had done this, so I get it totally, her sister didn't do this but when she visits she always says hello and whistles to him, now he will fly to her but doesn't land on her, but gets very close, the 3rd sister tried to force him to come off me and on her and he bites her everytime, so yes everything you 2 have said is soo very true! I put him in his cage if the one that many times tried to force him❤❤❤

My sweet baby Quaker who just turned 1 couple weeks ago died 2 days ago. This was the second night without her and I can’t sleep or eat . I have another bird that I’ve had for years but it doesn’t compare. It was a freak accident by someone stepping on her and breaking her neck. I held her lifeless body until I had to bury her. It’s my first major animal death, and she was my babygirl. She was so young and sweet and talkative. I’m thinking about getting another bird but idk if it should be the same kind. I’m always crying , I just want her back. How do people adjust with this??

Birds should be not bothered for 3 days so they get used to the sounds, smells and people on the new home. Let them see, hear and absorb everything.

Rocky is a handsome bird so adorable

Our little girl used to be a biter but e don't let her near the kids as she dislikes them and the pets. Anything else she's scared about we just say it's ok and show her it's safe so she's ok next time but she does get defensive while feeding but we persist so she knows the food is hers and she's then ok for fussing during feeding. Any visitors that come we offer her up and she gets used to different people. Very funny and vocal and with the nibbles. We found buying hard is stopped by holding the break until she realises it and she knows biting isn't tolerated now had onoy done it twice but she gets 10x more fuses after. Very loving bits too
