It’s definitely the biggest negative of having frameless windows for sure. Our Discovery 5 has got OEM snap-in shades that fit 100% perfectly without any need for adhesive or clips. Wish I had that option for our Model Y
@steadfastdetailingsydney2 ай бұрын
I wonder why the Discovery can do it but the Model Y cannot. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@srmxuk2 ай бұрын
@@steadfastdetailingsydney The Discovery doesn’t have frameless windows - so the shade stays in fine even if you open the door. It can’t do that with a frameless window.

I’d argue for using a car soap or rinsless or waterless wash if you are worried about scratching tissue is soft but the water is a solvent and provides no lubrication whereas a strong soap in a traditional car shampoo, rinse less or waterless wash it strong enough to break it all down with just the pressure from your spray bottle. This will work in a pinch but it definitely has the potential to scratch your car slightly but probably less than an automatic car wash.
@steadfastdetailingsydney3 ай бұрын
Yes I agree and this is emphasizing that in a pinch situation!

Lol you say don't cheap out on insurance but NRMA is one of the cheapest you can choose for Tesla luckily. Good to know NRMA gave you good service though.
@steadfastdetailingsydney3 ай бұрын
Agreed! NRMA happens to be the outlier for Tesla because they are usually more expensive compared to budget insurers for ICE cars. My theory is that the budget insurers don’t want to deal with EV and Tesla, hence they jack up the premiums.

Great video. I see you apply reload on a wet surface. How does that perform vs a dry surface?
@steadfastdetailingsydney3 ай бұрын
Applying Reload on dry paint will increase durability as wet Reload is diluted. But when you use Reload as a drying aid every month or two, it wouldn’t matter as much.

Have you debadged a Haval H6 GT before? The dealership claims that they can't remove any of the rear emblems because "they're screwed on and removing them would leave holes". I really struggle to believe that. Guessing they're just being lazy. Any ideas?

How do I remove grass between the soles and uppers? I'm still really cautious about wearing them everywhere, but you said they could take a beating. Also, I tried using a toothbrush like you, but it seems to scruff up the soles' rubbers. Any advice?
@steadfastdetailingsydney5 ай бұрын
The boots will get scuffed regardless but the leather can take it. The cream polish RM sells is very good at masking the scuffs. That’s all you can really do. Are you referring to grass getting stuck in the welt? If that’s the case then toothbrush to get it out.

This is a really great video. Can I ask what I should do with a scuff in the boot that is slightly discoloured in the toe cap? Is this where buffing it out may remove the scuff ?
@steadfastdetailingsydney5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. If it’s discolored, it depends on what caused the scuff. It could be some sort of paint transfer that’s sitting on top of the boot leather, much like what happens when your car swipes a yellow parking bollard. Buffing should remove the scuff but it’s really a case by case basis. Feel free to DM me on Instagram and send me some photos.

Nice video and beautiful car. Why not use Carpro Lift instead of this shampoo mix? Would you use Spotless before or after Using IronX?

Yeah Lift would work great in this instance. I have always used a traffic film remover as a preference. I’d use IronX first and Spotless afterwards. Thanks for watching.

What would have been helpful is showing your exact measurement steps rather than or, in addition to the debadging process which you've shown before. I see that the vertical center is marked with the bottom of the Tesla T, correct?? But how did you find the horizontal middle? Thanks!
@steadfastdetailingsydney6 ай бұрын
You don’t need to find the horizontal middle, that can be subjective because the panel is curved. Just go with whatever looks aesthetic for the horizontal middle.

I will never understand what's the point of making videos of rinseless washing on a clean car....
@steadfastdetailingsydney6 ай бұрын
That’s the point, you should only use rinseless when the car is lightly soiled. Also, you can see the dirt that the microfiber cloth picked up.

Thanks for the video! I have a couple of questions and appreciate your advice. My Atto 3 is already over a year on the road. Is the process of removing the letterings the same? 1. There will inadvertently be some dirt around the alphabets despite my best efforts of cleaning it. Will heating etch the dirt onto the paint leaving a shadow after the entire process? 2. Any possibility of old/new paint contrast for a year old car as the parts under the alphabets are sheltered for a year versus the exposed area. 3. Heating for a year old car will have same softening effect on the adhesive as shown in your video? Appreciate your advice as I hope to get this right.😅
@steadfastdetailingsydney7 ай бұрын
There may be a possibility of contrasting colours with the old/new paint. But if the car is garaged and doesn’t see the sun 24/7 then that’s less likely to happen. Unfortunately you won’t know until the badges come off. There’s no issue with heating it and the dirt or adhesive.

Such a good video as a proud UK owner of these exact boots! I think I need to learn more about the care of my boots as about 4 months into owning them they have developed white almost salt like marks in lines across the toe box area. I've read these can mean salt from water marks or fatty deposits coming through from the leather. Any tips for sorting this? I've conditioned and polished and a small amount of white remains.

Luckily, the other driver was insured, we have so many uninsured drivers in Colorado.
