@@da-joe-trains well I'm bummed as I posted twice. Mostly that you should check out the Rapido pages on the SDs as they were announced a while ago as the test shots show. Also alot of other new stuff by small new manufacturers like Prairie Shadows. Gonna add something hear as the new Walthers flyer just dropped. Walthers showed off a nice under car auger. I've been pushing for these for _years_ Sample was at the show, but it didn't make the catalog cut. The thing about these is everyone owns their ow,n so you can sometimes see several along a spur. A near switching 'problem' for basically empty space.

Yep, did a little more research after posting the video on the Rapido SDs, looks like that's not brand new info but neat to see those samples. I wish I could have gone to Trainfest as I definitely missed out on smaller manufacturers' new releases like you mentioned, I'll take a look at that it sounds neat. And maybe you're the reason for Walthers' auger release too, wouldn't that be sweet!

@Matts_Conrail_Chicago_Mainline22 сағат бұрын
@@da-joe-trains Honestly, I would've loved them even more if they'd done "Conrail Quality" first, but meh, beggars can't be choosers. I'm just happy we're getting Genesis line SD60s at all. I was kind of hoping Walthers would announce a new engine-, or rather I should say a re-release of an old Proto engine we haven't seen in years. I'd love to see the U28B/U30B make a come back as a mainline model myself, _though if I could bring ANY Proto engine back, I would absolutely bring back the NKP/C&O/PM Berkshires in a heart beat. . .even though Broadway has teased that they're going to do them in the future._
@da-joe-trains22 сағат бұрын
I too would like to see the Conrail Quality scheme. Wonder if they're holding off until a second run, same with the Oakway leasing ones that everyone really wanted. The hard part with BLI is they have teased so many steam engines and just "have them in the design queue" so there's never any timeline for an announcement much less a release
@Matts_Conrail_Chicago_Mainline21 сағат бұрын
@@da-joe-trains Fair, but from what I've seen with Broadway, even if it's "in the design queue", they will eventually get around to it one way or another. Speaking of things getting teased, BLI has mentioned that they had a new 2-8-0 in the works, and I am curious what they've got cooking. I've got a hunch it's not a Pennsy prototype, so my guess is it's either a Union Pacific C-57 or a Western Maryland H-9. The WM H-9 has become insanely popular in the past few years, mostly thanks to WMSR (shh, don't tell 734 she's not a real WM engine!) and various Train Simulators, and the UP C-57 because the lasted all the way up to the end of steam on UP. . .now if I could have any 2-8-0 in the world, I would LOVE to see a small, low drivered 1900s-era Baldwin or ALCO 2-8-0 like Southern Railway 401 or Sierra Railway #28, but that's definitely not happening.
@da-joe-trains21 сағат бұрын
Agreed, would love to see many one-off preserved engines but companies that would do it well would need to either do fantasy schemes or "fantasy numbers" to justify tooling costs in many cases. I do think BLI has a ton on their list of cool locos but it's just a waiting game as they move through it

The glimmer has just hit me: Walthers hasn't released a new run of Mainline SD50s in a while. They just announced SD60s, but it's been a while since they've announced new SD50s. (I pre-ordered an Oakway SD60 from the most recent SD60 announcement) What I would love to see in the next announcement of SD50s, should it ever come: Seaboard System, CSX YN1, CSX "Gray Ghost", and Conrail's "Quality" livery. Strangely, it seems Seaboard System and Gray Ghost SD50s are super scarce in HO scale. We need more Seaboard, CSX YN1, and CSX Gray Ghosts in HO scale. Speaking of scarce, I made another shocking and quite sad discovery: it's been a very long time since ANYBODY has done Chessie System GP38s or GP38-2s in HO scale. I only discovered this because I was contemplating getting one to pair up with my Family Lines GP38s and went to look them up on Google to see who made them, and they are shockingly quite scarce in HO scale beyond the Life-Like "toy" version from the 1980s.
@da-joe-trains5 күн бұрын
Those Oakway SD60s should be shrap, that's always a neat scheme on those. I'd guess Athearn would be the mostly likely to release the Chessie GP38s, unless Rapido adds to a new release of theirs

I had a cab car with the body put on backwards, a car with a bent axel tip, and a car where the metal insert in the truck was bent and caused it to derail. This is out of 8 cars. I really don't like the coupler swing assembly, either. The spring has very little tension, so when running even a 4 car train, the couplers pull way out to the side.
