2:08 The honda just cruises up there no problems, embarrasses the suzukis. Just goes to show it's not so much the riders ability it's what manufacture the bike is that will carry you the journey. Also you can get a lot higher on drugs than without them.

@@DestricaUKGaming Ah really it's a KTM? Well just goes to show then, it's not the rider's ability that takes them up the climb it's that fact that it's a KTM. Now what have we all learned today

@LeroyRifkin nothing because its just not true, rider line selection was the key here. So what have we learned?

Hell of a climb and as always, it must be much steeper than it appears on camera. Always interesting to see the different styles of rider - generally, with the right gear selected and a calmer approach the chances of a clean climb are better than the more hurried, throttle-chopping style. I'd probably fit into the latter on this sucker... Cheers - Dave

love watching videos about your adventure ride tours people have made but im curious, what you guys going to do about the lack of range with the crf300? cant get those big safari tanks for the crf can you? personally im still hoping suzuki update the DR650 like kawasaki did with the KLR. an adventure ready DR650 from the factory be the go imo.
@ellwoodmotorcycleadventure83182 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the feedback! Yes thats one thing we may find difficult is the lack of range for the CRF at the moment, we are hoping Safari make a tank and we can get some more after Markey parts to suit what we do. That would definitely be the go for the DR650, its a real shame they have already discontinued them!
@Bandit_SkozzaAU2 жыл бұрын
yes it is a shame. personally i think the DR's are the perfect all round bikes. DR doesnt need much imo, efi, abs, long range factory safari type tank and a DRZ digital type dash. i cant think of a bike currently available you could use to replace the DR. im assuming KLR is too big n heavy for what you do. crf lacks the fuel range and from reviews ive watched suspension is average. KTM 390 adventure prolly lacks ground clearance and doesnt come with spoked wheels but im pretty sure are available for it. maybe worth considering? everyone keeps telling me the DR range is dead but everyone said the same thing about the KLR, but kawasaki brought that back to life so im really hoping suzuki will come to the party with an adventure ready DR from the factory. id buy one in a heartbeat. good luck finding a suitable DR replacement. if you know anyone who works at suzuki you know what to do lol.. cheers.

@@Bandit_SkozzaAU Lots of good info there!! We need something thats a good all rounder for our Cape York trips and also our longer Darwin and Kimberley trips too. We are actually going to the trial the KLX450 and see how it goes. Lots of aftermarket gear for them and they are good value for money... Ideally we just wish they start making the DRZ again and all our problems will be solved!!

I've ridden one believe me I think I'd take my old KLR 250 over it the KLR is lighter yeah it doesn't have as much power but a lot more trail friendly

Never ridden a KLR250, may have to give one a go and see the difference!
@jasonhowell95892 жыл бұрын
The only way you're ever going to get rid of the DRZ is if you come up with a bike that's lighter and has more power and has the aftermarket parts

It sure will be hard to beat the DRZ400
@jasonhowell95892 жыл бұрын
Keep dreaming the DRZ is never going away with the parts availability and just be pure fact of how many bikes are out there the DRZ will never go away and it will never be trumped by a smaller cc bike sorry

Have to admit I’ve got one of your cape York rides on my “to do” list. Next year I’m hoping🤞🏼. Have you considered the KTM 350 exc? Good lite weight scooter with power enough to keep even the seasoned rider happy. Greetings from New Zealand 🇳🇿
@ellwoodmotorcycleadventure83182 жыл бұрын
Cant wait to have you along on one of our Cape York Tours! Yes we have looked into them, We may even trial one yet and like you said nice allrounder too. Something that appeals to us with the CRF300 and bikes alike are the service intervals. The 350 may be ok for Cape york however not so much for the bigger Adventure stuff so it would be good to get a bike like the DRZ400 that does it all... 🤔
