Goats Head is truly one of my favorites. One of those rare cover to cover LP's where I love every song.

As much as I love the Glimmer Twins, one does get a little skeptical when looking at their string of masterpiece albums and literally every tune is Jagger/Richards, post Brian.

By design, the common round-wound light gauge electric guitar string set provides us the tone and convenience of being able to bend our G-string. This wasn't always the case in the early electric guitar days, were we had a wound G string. In order to balance the way a light gauge set feels we have the price of having a slightly dominant low E. As plain steel tends to sound louder by mass then a wound one, the G string tends to stick out. Compound that by string radius and harmonic distortion we can use some help there. We benefit from adjustable pole pieces to compensate for that imbalance, and setting them up right gives us a nice natural and open sound that feels and works great in recordings and of course live. Yes, we take our time in this and listen to the strings in a musical way, in a harmonic context if you will...through an amp, and in a room. Please enjoy!

The normal channel should have more gain. It definitely has more on my '65 Deluxe. The Tremolo channel bleeds away more signal than the Normal channel according to research, and my own test diming both channels. ✌️ My plate voltage is 485 with the line voltage at 124v!!! Amp sounds great and I don't know why it is so incredibly high (on my '65 Deluxe... schematic says should be 425)! Do you think it is the Amperex GZ34 rectifier tube causing the sky high voltage?

This is probably one of Taylor' very best solos. Amazing that you should have gone at such length to analyze it and describe it for us to learn. A lot of rare details shown! At some point towards the end, you say the note 15 on the B string, which seems to be over A chord on your chart, is wrong. its a A# if over the A chord, which is indeed odd ! it sounds ... good tho, somehow even though its out of it. Did I get it right ? Thanks again Aldo.

This solo always stood out to me and it's finally time to honor it with a transcription and step-by step video to learn how to play it. I feel it just has a certain extra magic that makes it one of if not, his BEST. The reason I chose this solo is that there's no official audio or video footage available, just this bootleg. A desk recording called 'Unreleased Decca Live Album'. Inferior sounding or not, I used to listen to that stuff over and over and I've always felt there was something magic about it. It feels like. truly inspired improvisation. Please enjoy and let's keep this craft in the music business! BTW, the reissue can be modded - quite easy if you've got amp soldering experience - to behave and sound like a 5F1 tweed champ. I've got a video on the channel going through that process. Kind Regards,

Great job! Thought the clean tones were quite good. Not sure it can take being pushed though.
@AldoSpadaroOfficial3 ай бұрын
Thanks Chris, well there's a limit to where pushed feels good. With Tele and Strat maxed out will work fine, with buckers and p90 the speaker has a ceiling. But slightly at the breakup edge and colored with it really works well. Volume is gentle to the ears too. Regards,

I've been fortunate enough to be in the same room with that amp and it sounds freakin' amazing. I really LOVE big amps, I believe dr Freud has something to say about that 😂, but this thing sounds huge! You'd never believe it was a 6 inch speaker. Aldo's not only a monster player but he's pretty handy fixing and maintaining tube amps.

It's incredible how this tiny tube amp with only a 6inch speaker produces the tones we vintage rock and roll lovers long for, without the raspy harshness we usually associate tiny speakers with! The metal 6SJ7 preamp tube and 5B1/5C1 circuit create a unique dark voice for this amp. It's warm, has a permanent rich harmonic distortion and is super dynamic. Jazz to Rock, pedal platform, low volume studio recordings, no problem. Please enjoy and let me know what you'd like to see this amp do. Let's make it last to 100 years old working, this one!
