The oldest Orthodox Christian Holy Community in a US prison is in Michigan City Indiana State Prison. Archbishop Joseph of Bulgaria started it after a prisoner wrote him. All the other bishops he wrote ignored him.

I’m only 20 minutes in and it has already opened my eyes so much to my own shortcomings in parenting. Thank you, Father, for these reminders. 🙏🏻 nothing will humble a person so much as parenting does. Praise be to God for all things!

22 months ago i was driving down the roads of Louisville KY. I knew something was wrong with the religion i had been practicing all my life but i didnt know where to go to get what i needed. I wasnt even sure what i needed. I knew i loved the Lord as much as i could. I kept thinking there has to be more. This lady gets on there talking about her book, "Thinking Orthodox" i was so excited this woman is speaking my language! I stayed in my van listened to the whole interview. Came home bought the book. THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STUFF IVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE. I got introduced to the bride of my Lord, THE HOLY ORTHODOX CHURCH. I read the book and others for about 6 months. The poetry and beauty of this organic church cannot be topped and it will never end or be defeated. I got on line to see where the closest Orthodox parish was. I found St. Michael Orthodox Church is around 15 minutes from me. I decided in May of 2022 to go to a Matin. Woow i oddly felt like home but very out of place. Bowing, chanting, candle light, priest, sensors, incense, what on earth are you leading me to. It took a couple of weeks just to kiss the cross and the priest hand after the service. On and on. I actually thought i was an adult as far as spiritual maturity goes 😂. Im a babe in Christ now. I just got baptised 2 months ago. Amazing amazing amazing. There are no other rocks to turn over. Theres no other mountain to climb. I am nothing without him and i have nothing without him. To leave this church is to die spiritually.

The "teachings" in the Talmud are horrific. And such teachings are still informing human minds and hearts to this day.

Thank you for your talk. I listened to your book and I learned so much. You should give The Chosen another chance. It’s brought the gospels to life- just as your book has brought the Jewish motives and deptths known - & it’s made me want to reread the gospels over and over. Yes the 1st few episodes are slow but they’re building the characters. Dallas Jenkins is a good writer/director. Definitely a Jesus follower. He even has a Catholic, evangelical preacher and Messianic Jewish Rabbi talking about what they got right- & what they could’ve done better. God Bless you and your work! It’s beautiful.

This is very inspiring. I am new to orthodoxy, but I know I have found my home in Christ. I used to be a vile criminal and drug addict for nearly half of my life. Jesus Christ saved me from this life a little over 5 years ago. Most of my friends are now in prison or dead, and I feel he is calling me to help others to find His peace that surpasses all understanding. Many of the people I grew up with are still using drugs/alcohol, and since I moved home he has led me to pray and teach the Lords ways to them as they come back into my life. I know Jesus wants them all to find the narrow path, and I pray He will strengthen to do His work in the lives of those who need it most. Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy upon me a sinner.
