Man, the official translation utterly butchered the last set of levels. The lords of the mountain were called the "Creature of the North" and implied Volvox/Bolbox was behind the resurrected creatures, when really he just comes out of nowhere to hijack the Crystals and be the final boss while the Saurians are actually the ones who were messing with things. Makes a lot more sense now.

I'll be honest - I didn't get it. It is written like it has some deep and mysterious meaning under the surface, but no matter how deep I digged, I couldn't find it, only the surface-level symbolism. Every interpretation I had felt stretched out, and every theory felt either meaningless or not very satisfying. Art didn't impress me either, well it was good, and combination of realistic watercolor and simplistic cartoony style certainly did create a dramatic effect, but this beautiful art would have benefited from some more established writing.

I was wondering why i kept seeing videos online where, Madotsuki is a considerably higher resolution than my copies of Yume Nikki. I wanted to know why. I loaded up 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, .05, .06, .07, .08... all the way up to 0.10a. Still not as high resolution, its all more blurred. The answer? This whole time it has been the 2018 Steam version! Now ive got something new to try! I also noticed there's no actual archive for old versions. What's up with that? I'm going to package all the versions together and upload them.

Underrated pac-tastic essay on the Man himself, and one that I quite enjoy. It's a great way to explore how Pac-Man's first attempt to reinvent himself would be a predictor of the future the character would find himself in. We got way too many versions of Pac-Man, it makes my head spin. This sits next to Action Button's review of Pac-Man as the primer KZbin essay on the series just in terms of quality and focus.

Introduction to the video didn't age so well. Police have only become more authoritarian arm of politicians, government and elites, but context sure is important to the reason behind the riots overshadowing the protests. I don't need an argument on the matter given my...intimate knowledge of the race involved, one can say, what took place where innocent people lost their lives (cops and civilians), attacked or businesses destroyed had nothing to do with what came to light was Floyd overdosing. Black Lives Matter organization was a scam and socialist front using the disenfranchised as usual. That was social maneuvering of wealthy figures using activists groups to push agendas. Tale as old as time, only the brand in America is new to it. I like games that dig deep into things and explore the different angles, and if not, you can at least see the different angles personally and can debate it. Imagine a game that went that deep into making commentary to show the grand narrative at play. Deus Ex did this to one of the best degrees I can think of immediately in gaming. I think more so the vibe of this plays a big part in being immersed as well as the art, being the artist, personally.
