You're certain you've got an incredible car when no one gives a shit that there's a nuclear power plant in spitting distance. Thirteen years later (2024)... hoping you still have her!

Nuclear power plant cooling towers in the background and big motors that use a lot of gas. Everything dumbassocrats hate.

Story Time: I worked for a dude who had a nice car collection and bought a 429 serial ending in 429. It was beautiful and ran great. Had a co-worker who loved this car. Anytime we would drive to a show that was the car he was taking. No questions, you just knew. Show=him=429. Anyways one day we were pulling the cars out of the shop and co-worker asks the car wash guy to pull out the 429. This was my first clue something was up. Car wash dude pulls me over and says "Man the 429 doesn't sound right. 429 co-worker walks over like "what happened?" but in that typical I did some shit look on his face. I went back and looked at the security cameras from the night before and sure enough he had people in the shop after hours. You can see him on the video hop in the car, start it then after a few seconds gets out and looks in the engine bay as well as everyone else. I am assuming he revved the crap out of it while it was cold, starved for oil and damaged something. Prick blamed it on the car wash guy until I showed him and my boss the video. Needless to say he didn't work there much longer.

Sad. These were my generation cars. The electrics now rule.

Buddy of mine in HS had a fastback with a 460 in it and (oddly) an automatic. He finally disengaged the passing gear linkage after the third or fourth time breaking the tires loose at 60+ mph during a pass. Scared the living shit out of him every time.

I just shake my head when people say fords are weak haa! I put a Stock 1969 mustang 302 in my pinto and it Kicked ASS over my Brand new 454 SS pickup i had in the 90s
@ohioguy215Ай бұрын
Fords are OK but the Pinto obviously had a weight advantage. You would need to get in the correct class at the strip or dial in an E.T. that you don't under run. By comparison, I would've put my '02 496 2500HD, which is heavier, against your SS and I'm sure your SS would still have been kicked.
