Hey Matthew. I am Evelin, How are you? I hope you are doing great. I was watching your videos, while looking for some information about a problem That I am having with my apartamento machine. I couldn't find was looking for some information about rocket apartamento. The machine is not switch ON and Ifound little information that so far hasn't solved my problem. Do you think do you have information that you could share with me to try to fix it?. My machine is quite new. I got a brand new one a 1ago. And this morning I have done my usual coffee and a hour later I noticed it was switch off by itself. So I've tried to switch it on again, but not lucky on that. I would really appreciate if you can share with me some information that I could try here. Tks very much for sharing these videos. I've learned interesting things from it ;)

Hi Evelyn, I ran into a similar problem. After receiving my apartamento and plugging it in, the light would not turn green. I searched everywhere and was thinking the switch was faulty through all the research I did. I decided I didn’t want to ship it back so I opened it all up, completely taking off the back cover as well. Doing this let me look around the switch to see if there was any faulty wiring. Turns out during the shipping one of the motherboard green cable was not plugged all the way into the box, I continued to unscrew the only screw on the box and Fully connect the block onto the box. I plug in my machine then switched it on to the magical green light appearing. I quickly turned it off because it was still “naked” with no water reservoir. Put it all together and considered my machine fixed, have had no problems yet.
@tc80912 жыл бұрын
There’s a switch underneath that allows you to leave it on but not under pressure. The light will blink when it is in this mode. Turning it off and on or running lifting the lever will turn it back on. I’ve accidentally hit this button while pulling it out to fill with water.

I don't worry about it too much. Sometimes I quickly flush before pulling shots if it's been sitting warmed up for 60+ minutes, but most mornings I don't bother and I've haven't noticed much difference in shot quality.

So i was thinking ether to but a flow control kit or just buy a gauge like yours and adjust a pressure as you did in the other video. What would u suggest to do? Just your opinion. @matthewm.45073 жыл бұрын
I’d first recommend dialing in your Niche Zero and using a cheap distribution tool to get a nice even distribution prior to tamping. If you’re still getting channeling, then look into reducing brew pressure a bit. Those steps should get you pretty close 👍

My end is the temp. I have a temp on mine. When you have the right temp with the grind a little tamp. Gold. You can be at the 9 bar but without that right temp your shot is shot to hell. Don’t get me wrong with a bar pressure too is good but it’s your temp that is the most important factor to pull a shot.

I tried this adjustment on the opv or expension valve. I have a pressure gauge on the e61 group head. Out of the box, my appartartemento was pulling shots at 13 - 14 bars. I adjusted it to 9 bars. However, after pulling only 2 shots, i had a rattling noise coming from the machine. I first tough it was cups on my machine top, but no, it really is coming from the machine itself. Did you experience this? I cranked it up to 12 bars until i understand what is happening. Thanks!

@omrirechani11043 жыл бұрын
Hey Again buddy! You are the only one I know who made this adjustment and I gotta ask some super crucial questions (cause I wanna do it myself) 1. How did you monitor your changes? cause when you service the machine it should be powered-off, right? so have you put back all the pieces together, powered it on, waited for the boiler to build enough energy and then "tested" it? I'm thinking of lowering to ±10 bars. my Appartamento reads consistent 12 bars when the pump is running 2. Did you find yourself grinding a little coarser after the change? Thanks a lot in advance :)
@matthewm.45073 жыл бұрын
Yeah exactly, it was a little tedious as I think I ended up taking it apart and putting it back together 3-4 times before I got into an acceptable pressure range. And yeah, I was able to back off the grind with the lower pressure. That, combined with a distribution tool, has really made a big difference in the consistency of my shots.
@omrirechani11043 жыл бұрын
@@matthewm.4507 Thanks again. I'll do 2 full rotations as u suggested. Wish me luck!

Just wanna say that I've been using my machine with lower brew pressure for 2 weeks now (maybe more), and I'm very pleased. I've started with 8 bars then moved up a bit to around 9ish, and now finally I'm getting 10 bars. spent couple of days on each settings. This actually made pretty noticeable change! I find the machine much more forgiving now. and my shots are much more consistent. so for the inspiration + tips!
@leontan18473 жыл бұрын
@@omrirechani1104 hey mate, I’m trying to lower my brew pressure as well. Wondering did the full 2 rotation brought your to 8 bar pressure? Because I’m going to do it blindly since I do not have a pressure bar. If that’s the case, I’m hoping 1 full rotation will take it to ~9/10 bar
@omrirechani11043 жыл бұрын
@@leontan1847 still need my input? so - yes. 2 full rotations got me to about 8 bars. so a single full rotations should get you to about 10 bars. note that I've marked the starting point with a Sharpie so it would be easier to determine how far you've gone.

Nope, never had any issues! As long as you make small changes and test with your gauge, it should be pretty easy. For reference, against a blind basket mine is currently set to around 10.1 bars so that during extraction it’s around 9.8-10 bars. Good luck!
