I would have loved to have seen Karen’s first appearance when she was about 13. I’m glad they edited some of words of her final number to make it safe for everyone. She was 17 when she left and this may be 1985, not sure.

I really enjoyed watching this episode. Wake Me Up was the perfect song for Joe and he nailed it, Lorena’s nailed her version of What A Feeling, and the Beetles Medley was very entertaining. It’s amazing that Katie and Vanessa are the same age. They both turned 14.

Didn’t the first series of The Henderson Kids air in 1985? Johnny Young mentioned the show, but he said that it was on in 1986.

My family watched this show every week. After watching this episode I began to remember bits that I saw when it was first shown. It was interesting to see how much the City of Melbourne has changed. Back then, shops closed at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoons. The places where Johnny Young and the team filmed the show looked very empty. Compare this to how Melbourne is on the weekend now.
