I like how you can distill CU down to the real benefits of it, Robyn. I was recently trying out some client collaboration/approval scenarios like this, which is not for every client of course, especially since I do web design which can be very complicated. I would love such a collaboration (which helps them to become more involved in the process), but I don't want them to see my secrets or some of the inevitable nitty gritty that occurs in-house, and I don't want to have to create duplicate (client-friendly) tasks for their eyes alone. How could this be made into one smooth workflow?
@imrobynhenke4 күн бұрын
hi curtis! great question and I hear you on not wanting clients to see everything. unfortunately, there really isn't a easy way to do this with the current permissions settings. the only things you can limit are whether they can just view, comment, or edit tasks. i'm thinking if you are sharing docs with them, you could potentially create a subtask and that's all they have access to and link the doc from the parent task to that subtask but this would be a manual process. alternatively, you could give them access only to the doc inside of the task and they dont see what's in the task. depends what you need to hide from them :) does that help?

Thx for the great overview and presentation We have been migrating all our fragmented tools to clickup and are quite happy Though for the published items we still use airtable as there we can use the connection to different tables (persona, keyword, funnel fase, product etc) Also we like how visual overview with the thumbnails are in airtable But this video inspired me to try to replicate this with more views and fields in our clickup setup
@imrobynhenke23 күн бұрын
Thank you for the warm words!! I’m glad you found this video helpful! You can technically do that in ClickUp as well, link to other databases so you may be able to recreate what you already have. I’ve never used airtable though so maybe it’s not worth changing what’s already working 😊

Thank you I was looking for tutorials for new users in the Clickup website but they only have introductions from 3 years ago, or at least that's the only ones I have found. Thank you!!

This series is amazing! Do you sell templates?
@imrobynhenkeАй бұрын
Thank you for saying that! I'm so glad you're finding it helpful. At this point, I am not selling templates as I don't believe templates are really the solution. The real power comes from attaining the ClickUp skillset and building your own solutions using the foundation I shared in this series! That's where the real power comes in 🙂

Thanks. Would this work for construction and construction management? If so can you create reports of different client construction projects ? And can you add their logo to their reports ?
@imrobynhenkeАй бұрын
100% absolutely! This method works perfectly for construction. Your space can be construction, folders are clients, and lists are the phases or types of services. But you would need to track time or go back and input time into the tasks for the reports to work. This works especially well for freelancing because I’m in ClickUp all day doing the work so I’m time tracking in real time. You could have the ClickUp app on your phone as well and add time in on the go! Hope that helps!

Do you use a front facing client portal to your clients? I’m in the brand and web design space & I find my clients typically only text or email me even though I have client portals. I really want them to have one place to go for everything, but I’m still new to clickup & not sure if this is possible
@imrobynhenke2 ай бұрын
This is a GREAT and timely question. You 100% can have client portal dashboards, but tbh I haven't used them at length. I tend to utilize a client tasks list and assign them things there, as well as workflows the client is in to provide feedback using comments. This has generally worked well since the client gets an email notifying them and they just navigate to it that way. I HAVE however had feedback from past clients that they feel ClickUp is a bit complicated, so I am revisiting the idea of client dashboards as we speak. At the end of the day, clients will engage with you where you ask them to, and if they step outside of that, it's our responsibility to guide them back to our processes and preferred communication channels. Easier said than done but worth mentioning!

Amazing content! I have two questions. First, which custom field did you use for the thumbnail? Second, why didn't you use the relationship feature for tasks connected, so that you wouldn't have to go back and forth between different lists? You could switch to the specific task using the relationship option.
@imrobynhenke2 ай бұрын
Thank you!! The thumbnail (assuming you mean in the KZbin video part) is an attachment custom field, so I can simply attach the image. Secondly, great idea to use relationships to link blogs + youtube videos. I've done this in the past for other tasks, and could definitely add in here!

@@imrobynhenke any chance you will be selling templates of your different setups?
@imrobynhenke2 ай бұрын
@@PetraClarke great question! At this time, I don't plan to sell the templates *on their own* but I am going to sell a course that includes the templates. My reasoning for this is that templates on their own without all the background ClickUp knowledge are likely to become a source of frustration rather than a ticket to the organized freedom I want for my audience. 🥰
