Hi Courtney. Lovely to see you back! I think I'm going to be reading The Rise And Fall Of The Dinosaurs in November. It's been sitting on my shelf for a little while and I'm excited to read it. I'm hoping to go to the Natural History Museum in London in January for my birthday. I used to go all the time in the summer but when we moved from London to Kent it became a little more expensive. I love the Dinosaur exhibition there!!

Perfectly captured the insanity that comes with trying to solve an unsolvable riddle. Or find the centre of a maze where the walls move. I shall have to think hard about toes now.

I finished reading House of Leaves today. Saw a few reviews. Took to the Reddit page and now I’m here. I find it amazing how much this video could be included as an additional future footnote of a dissected version of House of leaves, “time stamp 7:40-9:20” or something to that nature. Idk where I stand with this book but I appreciate your contribution.

Not that you have to, but the 13 and 1/2 lives of Captain blue bear is actually based off another book that he wrote called Rumo in his miraculous adventures. After those, I would suggest reading the labyrinth of dreaming books and a wild ride through the night. The first three includes ammonia and the wild ride through the night is just an awesome book.

No. Audiobooks are not reading and that’s ok. I came across a comment on Goodreads that tried to assert that claiming audiobooks don’t count as reading is ableist. Different people are capable of different things, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Calling listening to an audiobook reading is like saying you went hiking in the mountains when you drove, it’s like calling yourself a botanist when you just have a few houseplants or saying you went for a swim when you just took a bath.

@@williamburns3823 So, we're going to ignore every culture's tradition of passing stories along orally? Where would stories be today with Homer or Shakespeare's plays being passed down orally? Audiobooks are a call back to the first story tellers and it definitely counts as reading.

I feel like I read a different book based on this review. We don't just hear about the violence. We are with the characters as they shoot people, scalp them, beat them to death, and get tortured themselves. The Chicago chapter shows Augustus had surpassed what Quentin was as a leader to these violent men, and we get that with his monologue at the end. Also, the one character's name is Lukas Shakespeare, not Lukas Riddle. Unless they changed that for that printing, for some reason.

My summary of WSB. a spoiled brat desperate for attention.
@christinajackson3461
@christinajackson3461 5 ай бұрын
Frankly, I hated it. He used hate speech just for shock. But what bothers me more is that he grew up privileged but became a criminal and killed his wife leaving their young son without a mother. And he went on to deny a lot of his addiction while being interviewed. I think he's a hack and it makes me sad that anyone wants to be like him. I think he hated the fact that he was gay. Or he couldn't stand to love a woman after killing the mother of his kid and so he then went gay. Just a guess. I'm glad I never met him.

I disagree that it was beautifully written but just my opinion. I felt it was just hate-speech by a murderer who has very little heart. Basically, a spoiled brat looking for attention.

I loved the goldfinch but didn’t jive well with the secret history but I get it; the goldfinch takes up a lot of space lol I could stare at your bookshelves for a while thanks for sharing ☺️ I actually don’t remember the last book I unhauled because I haven’t finished a book in a while 😞 probably a middle grade book or a dark tower book though (I rarely keep books I’ve read unless they are super amazing) 100 book unhaul is ⭐️

Wow some awesome finds! The whole leviathan series, the Judas gospel and the Woman at Point zero, and XX sound really cool. I’ve been wanting to watch the Shogun tv show but I don’t have the streaming service for it. I know about the ick but I did buy the ebook versions of the books. (Sorry yours is broken!) My mom has a really beat up version of shogun and that was my justification because the pages would probably fall out if I tried to read it. She loved the series. I wish I could find physical redwall books here! I had no idea about the blind school that’s awesome. That’s funny about Stephen king. I just finished all of the Dark Tower series and some of them were pretty bad actually. But the pictures in the books were cool 😆 still have to finish Mr Mercedes series but that was definitely top tier. The Bible for blockheads 🤣 I grew up learning religion and I still feel like I need that one!

Loving this idea kind of makes me want to make one modeled from the Mob Wives tv show lol you know they’d be all gossiping around the pool. A secret room would be so cool. Ever since I learned Frida Kahlo and her husband had a house with separate parts connected by a balcony…I see nothing wrong with that lol

Hi Courtney. You got some cool books. The Doctor Who fairy tale book looks really good. Paul Magrs who writes some Doctor Who stories is in violence making some great videos you might want to check him out. You also got lucky with the S A Corey books. I'm wanting to read those too.
