Good explanation! One important note to add is that all of these affinity laws only apply when there are no other changes in the system. I.e. there is only one change that is made (speed, impeller diameter, etc), and all else in the system stays the same.

Hi, thanks for your great technical guides. Regarding the video you shared, we have a concert hall within our project. The HVAC designer has proposed a UFAD system with an air diffuser under each individual seat for warm and cool air supply. Is it a justifiable design as the air is coming out just in place where people are sitting? Can the air flow be annoying?

Ive noticed that on some AHU's with either an abrupt transition connected directly to the discharge or even some with an attenuator/silencer within a few feet of the discharge, I have measured negative static pressures rite there at the blower outlet making it impossible to get correct TESP measurements . I usually will measure my supply static after whats causing it, ie after the silencer but not sure if its a reliable reading or not. I understand static regain and lower pressure/higher velocity through a restriction but not sure what to do when I read like -0.4 12" downstream of blower where youd think it would always be positive pressure. Any advice or can you do a video on this? Im sure im not the only one who experiences this, thanks

I was confused, you kept saying V= 2000 divided by the area/ devided by 144 . In both examples at 5:40. But its X 144 not divided by 144. So V= Q divided by A X 144

How do you insulate the diffuser? Thinking of spraying a rubber coating on inside and out to help keep the diffuser from getting too cold and hopefully prevent the sweating diffuser.
