I have played half life 2 on xbox yesterday afer playing xbox360 and PC version and game looks very good. When it comes to textures, most of the time textures are sharp and looks very good on SD CRT (xbox version was made with CRT in mind not higj resolution HDTV). The biggest difference is IMHO lack of water reflections and also framerate is not perfect but thumbstick settings are so well tuned in that game and even at 20fps I could easily aim at anything. What's funny, half life 1 on ps2 was dipping even more than half life 2 on xbox :P.

the part of water reflections must be because this game and ep1 had source upgraded to the orange box one, this port was obviously left untouched, so an better comparison of this port and the pc version is by comparing it with the pre-orange box version, which can only be obtained if you install the game on pc without letting it update, or pirate an cracked version of it

No, water in vanilla game even before patches looked much better, and you could see reflections (just look at half life 2 reviews from that time). Xbox 1 was using shader model 1, wile water in half life 2 was made with shader model 2 in mind from the start.

Lucky Number8 The Xbox was designed for HDTVs you idiot. Why does every game support 480p and some games support 16:9? Because it was designed for EDTVs (480p) and HDTV (720p-1080i 16:9)

Ramiro 1992 Maybe not on PC. PS2, Xbox and the 360 had some terrible FPS and control issues, it's a lot smoother on a regular computer as it was mostly intended by VALVe. Still looks amazing to this day.

This is one of the best looking Xbox games in my opinion. Even though some of the textures are poorer-quality, it still looks way better than some of the other games available on the Xbox at that time.

Eh, might have to disagree with you on that. DOOM 3 might be the better looking game on the console, at least in my opinion.. But Half-Life 2 definitely is on that list.
