I went there 80, 81 & 83 - LOVED IT !. There wasn't any of the trouble it's noted for now, when we were there everyone only had one thing in mind - fun!. Strangely enough, I remember the old-guy with his donkey (02:40) - he must've covered some miles as he appeared everywhere!. I've so many happy memories of my holidays there and I hope everyone else who was there are all good & happy !. Many thanks for uploading !

Interesting film, and very atmospheric of the time in 1979. Excellent music in the last 3-4 minutes. Who is the lady in the film - a friend? I am an optimist, although there is tinge of sadness watching this that the charm has somewhat gone (for example around Tower Bridge)

Remember as well there was respect.....during those days u dressed to go west end shopping....restaurants as our grandparents. .......do people dress now for me ...the lines are blurred between lounge -wear....respect forself,for self-esteem

Hi Ian - hope all is well. I've got myself a Eumig Mark S 802 projector, but I am still trying to find a suitable projector lens to build my telecine machine - Do you think this one would work, or is it the wrong shape at the bottom? (i don't think youtube has let me post the link as I am reposting this as my first message vanished - The lens is on ebay and it's called - Bell & Howell 16mm Projector Lens 2" f1.6 made in USA

Hi Simon, all good here, I trust that you are well. I don't think the the 16mm lens would not work, the barrel would be too big! Have you tried removing the rear element of the lens on your Eumig? It should just unscrew and then try it with your camera lens set to Micro the Eumig lens will have to be moved a little further away from the film frame and just set up the camera and see if you can get the image in focus, the zoom on your video camera will have to be at least X 15 to fill the frame, the projector speed will have to be around 20 fps to get rid of the strobing effect, the slider switch of you projector needs to be between 16 and 24 Frames per second as there is no speed adjustment as such on that projector! You could just buy one of these I did but you would need deep pockets, very deep pockets indeed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmWVgXmIrdChh7s

Only a very limited area is shown. Scenic areas ( even in pettah):are avoided. Temple of tooth is located in Kandy.Not in Colombo .
