Thank you for sharing. I do have ducks and I was wondering if I can make an income with them. Special when my income is not enough etc.. .

So what do you do with the eggs between the time you gather them to shipping them out? Where are they stored?

How do you take care of the chickens without getting in chicken crap dont you ever have to crawl in there .
@cowcamp87 Жыл бұрын
Everything can be done from outside the coop. Only time we need to get in with them is to load out for market. We move them ahead to clean grass for that.
@truth_farmer Жыл бұрын
To heavy and hard to move, had this style before easy to get chickens legs caught as you pull it. Best coops are light weight ones that push so chickens walk forward away from you.

just a heads up, that tin covering in the direct sun turns that unit into a hot box. add some shade cloth during the hotter months to prevent this. love from down under.

I have 30 and 40 series JD tractors. Most change exactly like this video and are no trouble. But I have probably cursed away 1/2 a lifetime changing my 4040 in either direction. Like was mentioned already, parking on a slight hill with the rear in the air helps. Not sure what is up with the 4040? Everything else on it runs fine.

Thanks for the video. My gun should be here tmw. how long does it take for the dart to fall out and is it hard to find them? Would a hip shot work? This will save me a lot of time. thanks for any info.
@cowcamp872 жыл бұрын
The darts usually fall out quite quickly. unless they are in tall grass or they really run away you can uaually find the dart easily if not right away. i have hit some in less than ideal spots. seems to work. We always prefer doing them in the chute but alot of times cant hence the gun purchase. Good luck

@@cowcamp87 thanks for the info! I just upgraded the head gate this year. The last one was 35 years old. Bought the gun for when it’s to hard to get them in. It will pay for itself if it saves one cow or gets a bull back to breeding. Thanks!

Looks like really good winter accommodation and should keep predators away from them. Just be wary about rats as they love to live in the bedding when it gets a bit deep and feed off spilt feed and drink their water.

How many gallons per bale do you use? I am going to pour west way feed on some rye hay that my cows don’t seem to like. Freeze blasted the heads so I baled it.
@cowcamp872 жыл бұрын
I think we put 100 to 130 lbs per 1000/1200 lb bale. If I remember right that would be around 10 to 12 gallons per bale
