Goldberg at that time was maybe only one of few wrestlers that was more scary than Sid.

We all know Bret drew money. Vince tried to make Luger the next Hogan failed went back to Bret then tried Diesel that failed miserably then Michael’s also failing. Then Austin shows up and Bret turns him into a star bigger than Hogan lol.

As he should have. Sid was always depicted as an absolute MONSTER himself. This should have been a clash of the titans. Sid faced em ALL. Nash, Hogan, Taker, Goldberg, Sting & Bulldog, & so on; & in none of them did he ever look weak. I always felt like some of Kane’s gimmick was from Sid. Very similar guys.

Russo did not have one good idea in WCW. So I find it laughable that people credit him for the Attitude Era.

I do believe this story. Even Bret admitted he got depressed after putting Shawn over at WrestleMania, because he "wasn't going to be in the main event scene anymore". If he wasn't on top, Bret didn't wanted to do anything.

It goes to show how CLUELESS eric truly was. I guess he really drank the kool-aid like that, it took a whole organization to put over a black & white shirt & Austin STILL outsold them!

Steve Austin started the attitude era. After that Austin 3:16 deal. He was the first to start the hand gestures and curse in live TV. The nwo over at wcw were also influential. Curtain call wasn't as bad as wrestling purists made it out to be. But I wouldn't say that started the attitude era

The enormous amount of respect Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan has always had for one another shows clearly how each guy gets it and is classy enough to explain it in layman’s terms.

I never thought that Hogan and Flair would become best friends. But they are. Hogan definitely knows Flair was the best wrestler. He says it. But hulk made wrestling what it is.

Bret never lost clean to anyone but Davey and Owen in his entire WWF singles run, and even both of those were fluky. He was as bad as Hogan or Shawn when it came to losing.
