While Nier does have more weapon variety, Eve’s combat feels more weighty and impactful and I can’t tell you how much I miss blocking and parrying in an action game (every other one over the years has stuck with just the Bayonetta dodge for whatever nonsensical reason and I do not miss being shafted with just that one). Eve’s outfits also carry over into the cutscenes and the number of styles definitely adds to replay value that has also been missing from a lot of hack & slash games for years (all DMC5 had was pallet swaps of the same default outfits and that saddened me), and I also like the smaller, detailed and focused environments as opposed to the larger, emptier ones. So while Stellar Blade does take a lot of things from Nier and all credit to the latter for causing this game to happen, Stellar Blade for me does other things that I’ve long missed from other titles (honestly it’s also the closest I’ve played to being a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Rising with a light seasoning of Sekiro, and it feels great).

@@UnicornStorm Not sure. I'm in the middle of my first playtrough with Stellar Blade so I can't say anythinng yet but since the start it just feels like it's the same world to me. Eve7 may be an earlier version created by the same program that created 2B centuries later. I may be completly wrong but that's how it feels to me right now. I just entered the second stance where you can only shoot with the drone so no spoilers please.

You know I never thought of that. It's hard to imagine Eve as 2B since Eve's personality and demeanor is different but someone coming into Stellar Blade blind could easily see this.

My most memorable things from NieR Automata were the story and the tragedies in it, IDK why these are not included in this video. I haven't played Stellar Blade, is it lack those elements or you just forgot to include it?

I played automata when it came out and thought it was so boring gameplay wise :( adored Stellar Blade tho and platinumed it do you guys think I should go back and give nier a try?

I really enjoyed Automata's gameplay. It's a rather forgiving Platinum-style spectacle fighter and that might throw people off, but with the countless gimmicks thrown into the mix, that Nier is known for, made it a very unique experience for me that stayed fresh until the end. Can't say if you would like it more after having played Stellar Blade, though.

"Arbitrarily changing gameplay styles." That's severely downplaying how many gameplay styles Nier Automata has. "Every human is a cyborg." You never once meet a human in Nier Automata. They are all androids.

^.^ I will, and I already got the book. It's a different series, though, this time. It's called "Mord im Herrenhaus" published by Kaufmann I'm actually gonna do 2 advent calendars this year, since some good friends made a unique escape room advent calendar book, that I'll live solve, or at least try to, on my second channel. it has more costumes for a single character than the DOA games (pre hundreds of Dollars of DLC).... and about as many costumes for the male character as those games^.^
