My brand new machine lasted 8 minutes before it malfunctioned and started beeping at me. From what I have found is that it's a common problem and there is an issue with the controller. My machine is currently at the local toro dealership. We'll see how good there customer service is.

Sadly, the electric 60 V is garbage. I ended up getting so sick of it. Put 8 horsepower predator motor for $250. That is less than one of the batteries.... Sadly, Toro will not acknowledge that they are selling people faulty. Items saying that they can blow a 40 car driveway on 3 batteries. There's nothing but a lie...... For a two thousand dollar snow blower, quite ridiculous.....

Eventually, EV mowers are a no brainer. But they need to build them from the ground up! The way they build them now is like the GM EV1. Just a gas powered mower converted to electric. The battery should be at the lowest possible position, the frame should be designed for EV specific. As a 20+ year commercial lawn care guy, $ matters. I know the math and EV will undeniably take over. It's just a matter of who will design the Tesla of EV mowers. No compromises? So far, I'm sticking with gas. The company that gets they're s41t together first will win the future. It's not about the environment. It's about the bottom line.

In the past, Toro snow blowers were built like tanks. I own one, that's pretty good that's repowered with a Honda engine that replaced an older Tecumseh. That being said, it requires some work. I have found that the offerings from Toro, Cub Cadet and Ariens are all comparable, all with rebranded Honda-based engines and no real differentiating features. I personally own a Cub Cadet 3X HD 28" with a 420cc engine and for commercial use it has been relatively well performing. Some things I don't like about it is the transmission is a bog-standard design used in all three companies I have mentioned and unlike the transmissions used in lawn, garden and small utility tractors as well as Honda's top of the line walk behind mowers and snow blowers, has its issues using a friction system. The other issue is the electric start system: For about $100 more you can have a true battery electric start so that when your machine stalls far from your house you just turn the key or push a button and continue. The only company that really differentiates is in fact Honda. Yes, they are quite expensive but with true automotive style electric start, hydrostatic transmisssion (advantage is shift as you go), electric joystick control on the upper 2 stage models, tracks as standard (there is an option for one wheeled model, if one prefers), thumb actuated gas assisted height adjustment and genuine commercial grade Honda engines on the two stage and all two stages with a 3 year commercial or consumer grade warranty, you can't beat the Honda. Also, Honda has shear pins but there is a separate system that shuts the machine down to prevent shearing those pins, but also the shear pins are easily accessible for replacement if necessary. The "in between" he talks about here is about as "inline 2 sage" as the single stage he shows here. The difference is the paddle is steel instead of rubber and uses a drive system on the wheels that, I hope is better built than the Personal Pace on Toro's walk-behind mower lineup that leaves little to be desired. The closest I have seen a single stage be a true "inline 2-stage" is Honda's roughly 40 year old HS35 where it actually looks like it has a small 4-blade impeller between the side augers. Electric snow blowers are probably fine for the homeowner, but if you have a long or large driveway or are a commercial operator gas is still the best option. Also, the battery options in Toro's 2-stage and personal pace single stage are strange in that the motor isn't coupled directly to the impeller shaft and also an auxiliary motor on the wheels, it still runs through a belt. This could be a plus or a minus, depends on who you are, but I want all of my power running to the impeller shaft when I apply the control instead of continuously running and only coupled when a V-belt is engaged.

What kind of motor oil do you use for a Toro

This mower is an absolute disaster. I've never encountered a mower with so many problems. The blade belt was destroyed after just five months of use, and Toro refused to cover it under warranty, calling it a 'wearable part.' From day one, the blades constantly disengaged. After just one season of homeowner use, it's nearly impossible to start. I get more exhausted trying to start this junk than actually mowing the yard. Toro has completely lost its reputation, pushing a poorly designed and overall terrible product onto consumers.

I purchased one of these back in August. I'm impressed how she cuts and how she rides. It's a tank. I enjoy mowing with it. Toro, you all made mowing great again, lol. Your pattened deck produces beautiful stripes. One big thing I don't particularly care for is the procedure on oil changes. The oil drain hose connects to the engine cowl. It's connected by a plastic piece. It's a chore to disconnect the oil drain hose. At times, removing the hose can be a bear. Its a delicate procedure. The problem is, it's easy to break that plastic piece. If it does break, the engine cowl has to be replaced. I think a better design would be a quick disconnect rather than using a pair of slip joints to disconnect the hose from the cowl or utilize a traditional drain plug. Other than that, it's an awesome mower.

Very helpful video. Another issue that was not mentioned is noise, where electric has a measurable advantage. Many municipalities, based on resident noise complaints (as well as environmental concerns), are modifying ordinances to encourage electric.

I can't seem to reach anyone who's willing to help me so I'm resorting to this ridiculous method. This week I purchased a BRAND NEW 2024 Toro TimeCutter Max 79505 and for $4000. I have now set out to find and purchase the appropriate bagger (79501) for this mower and have hit dead-end roads at every turn. So much so that Toro's own customer service rep suggested I search eBay for this part. Got that? Yes, the Toro rep suggested a go to a website that hosts people who sell their attic and barn findings to find parts for my brand new $4000 Toro mower. So, I'm asking for help here. Can someone please help me flip this horrible experience so that I don't have to load this thing up and return it for a John Deere? I did find a 79501 in middle America but I refuse to drive 20 hours roundtrip or pay $200 shipping. any help here?

if you go to a small engine dealer ask them to see if they have toro part 121-5765 in their system they should be able to cross reference the belt for it to fit and it will be a commercial grade belt.
