I know a bunch of mouth breathers can't put it in perspective but Caleb in week 3 was not only at his best as a rookie, but displayed a better floor for QB play than what the Bears have had for starting QBs in the last 10 years. All while playing hero mode with no consistent run game, low tier O-line play and the OC committing weekend terrorism to see how to design a shitty offense. The Fields apologists will come around. But for the future Bear truthers, you got yourselves a franchise QB. Just gotta fix everything else around him for the long run.

Bryce Young’s height has never been and never will be a valid excuse for his lack of success. Kyler Murray is the same height as him, came into the league only four years prior, and has proven his height NOT to be something that handicaps him as either a passer or rusher. Hell, the Cardinals even started 7-0 with Murray leading the charge a few seasons ago. Russell Wilson is only an inch taller and was a perennial star for an entire decade. Drew Brees is only 6’0” and he’s an undisputed top ten QB of all time. Young being 5’10” hasn’t been the problem. His poor decision making and the lack of talent and solid coaching around him has been.

I refuse to believe that all scouts and analysts and everyone was wrong about him beforehand. In 2024 that would be insane. I understand that scouting is hard but usually it's about big physical guys being unable to evolve technically and mentally ending up as busts, not guys like him. I genuinely don't get it, it has to be the team's fault

@Sbcmlg28247 4 күн бұрын
Dalton just proved it’s his fault today vs the Raiders. You’ve got to receiver all those scouts and analysts are also just humans and humans are flawed and sometimes make mistakes. This was an example of that.

While obviously a detriment, I don't think his height is the problem. He has *the worst* footwork I have ever seen in an NFL QB. Even RBs and WRs in wildcat formations have better QB footwork than Young. For someone so afraid of getting hit, and who is for sure "seeing ghosts" at this point, you'd think his footwork would have some sense of urgency, but it just looks so... lazy. He looks like a little kid after a full day at Disney land, just slowly plodding along, literally dragging his feet as slow as possible. Like dude, this the N F god damn L. You need to pick up the pace. How no one has told him "hey Bryce, watch _literally any other QB_ do his dropbacks, see how he forcefully and purposefully steps back instead of shuffling his feet like a little kid? yeah, try to emulate that" is insane to me. His footwork is atrocious. And it's not like with some other QBs where you can tell they're trying to change something but then it breaks down as the game goes on and they get hit and instincts take over; from the first play he takes the snap and then meanders backwards. It looks as if he just doesn't care, which is crazy when he then is pissed he gets benched.

Yes Panthers have a shit ton of problems but they’re still a better team than last year, Bryce is the main problem, thank you for illustrating that. Fully expect Dalton to be better, if he’s not then maybe we can start to say Bryce isn’t the main issue

So... the Steeler Offense issues in the past were because of Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, and Matt Canada, right...? So now we have a new Offense Coord - that went ON THE RECORD saying Fields is NOT a good fit for the offense. But now, instead of considering the worthless talent the Steelers keep acquiring from Chicago (some kind of love fest between the cities) the team and the media want to start complaining about the new Offensive Coord - you know, the guy that single handedly turned the team offns from horrific into 300+ yard/game team with Mason Rudolph going 3-1 in the stretch to make the playoffs. Its also worth noting, Kenny Pickett only played under matt canada - who is a known and accepted failure with the steelers - and he STILL went 8-5 in his last 13 games... Can anyone provide a single reason as to why the steelers CONTINUED acquiring worthless qb talent from the bears instead of simply letting pickett and rudolph lead the team??? Dont tell me they left on their own, they were forced out, told the job was 'open for competition', which basically.meant they were out, dont play stupid, either would have stayed if they were asked to.. so whatvwas really going on there during the offseason, art rooney jr sticking his nose and politics where they dont belong... So we get an old man that cant play anymore - I called that before the preseason even started - and some abject failure qb from the bears, right after taking their previous abject failure qb... Are we in line for Caleb Williams when he fails next? What is it we are trying to lead the league in??? Its certainly not winning. How many games are we going to win, scoring 1 touchdown every other game? Fields is a piece of garbage, we never should have taken him - even if he was FREE... what was he, a lifetime 8-25 qb... and that was the bears fault??? What exactly are the steelers trying to prove anyway??? I am a lifelong fan - all the way from the 60's, my father used to provide the team cars to the 1970's dynasty, I know everything about this team, its history, art rooney sr, dan rooney, and now the incompetent art rooney jr... he needs to step aside, he is ruining the team with his politics and ignoring the concept of winning and putting your best players on the field - NOT TRADING THEM AWAY to make room for an overpriced old man and A PIECE OF GARBAGE FIELDS

Again it comes back to where and who is developing a QB prospect. People thought Jordan Love was gonna be a bust, became a star. People thought CJ Stroud was gonna be a bust, became a star. People thought Justin Herbert was gonna be a bust, became a star. People thought Josh Allen would be a bust, became a star. People thought Pat Mahomes would be a bust, Face of the NFL. It comes down to development, these guys all had many negatives but the coaches did their job, cosch the player to succeed. How many QBs that did well in college have turned out mediocre or have been flat out busts? Many, many is the answer.
@Sbcmlg28247
@Sbcmlg28247 4 күн бұрын
It also comes down to talent. Some people have it and some don’t. Bryce can’t do what those guys can. There’s a reason all those guys are starters and Bryce is on the bench and it’s not all on the coaches, he’s gotta take accountability for his faults. You could have the best coaching and development team in the world but they don’t take the field, only the player does. Dalton proved today that Bryce was the problem with the Carolina offense, not the oline, receivers, or coaches.

Drafting QBs is a dark science. You get dudes like Trey Lance, Sam Darnold, or dare I say it, Jamarcus Russell who are big, confident, have a rocket arm and look the part. But for whatever reasons, physical or mental, they struggle in the NFL . However, if it's me rolling the dice I'm still going with the bigger and more athletic QB out of college. (As long as he doesn't run a 4.8 forty like Russell.)

For JaMarcus, a part of his failure is almost unquestionably discipline. Similar problem was shown with Manziel. Both of them have, later on, admitted to not watching video. And in both cases, analysts have brought up concerns over their off-the-field behavior and signs of being undisciplined.

I am not trying to be a Richard but weren't you calling him the next Drew Brees? I was SHOCKED the "EXPERTS" were so high on him. He's tiny. People want to compare him to Wilson and Kyler but those two were short but had plus athletic traits. Baker has a much better arm. He probably set back shorter QBs a hundred years. I never want to hear about "elite processing" again. The SEC is not the NFL, not even close. I hope I eat my words because he seems like a cool guy but God the Panthers whiffed on this one. Just so you don't think I am a hater, you were dead on with Russell Wilson's issues. I got to watch his entire career being on the west coast.

Football is always an eye test thing by the end of the day. And he fails the eye test by seemingly being dangerously small. Its almost impossible in some of the all 22 angles how small he is. I haven’t watched any Carolina games but have been mildly (morbidly) curious about the BY situation. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from channels like this, Brett K, JTO’S, and Kurt Warner, it’s how crucial technique and footwork are to good performance. Anyway…HOLY HELL THIS KID’S FOOTWORK IS AWFUL. Why have I not heard about this sooner? Yowza. I’d be curious to see a side-by-side between BY, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson in his prime.

Kyler and Russ' inconsistent footwork could be saved in their primes by being better runners and having stronger arms. As well as consistent receiver targets downfield. Bryce has none of that.
