Loved the recipe. I remember watching my boju making that ghiu+sugar mixture. One query - If we add some suji to this mix instead of rice flour in the end, do you think it will come out softer or remain soft till later?

I wasn’t sure which rice to use and all these years have been using basmati only to find today that Thai is better. The secret step (mixing ghee and sugar) is apprexiated. Please make sure that your oil is super hot before you pour the mixture. Let me know how it turned out.

It is granulated sugar, a little bigger than fine sugar. I hope this helps!

Ah, great question! I usually store them in an air tight container which helps maintain the selroti's softness. Also, if you have big ziploc bags, you could use them as well. I hope this helps! 😍

It is not. You may use biryani/basmati rice as well but from the cost stand point, long grain jasmine rice is a lot cheaper. Jasmine rice is mainly used to make fried rice whereas basmati rice is to biryani. 😊

Jasmine rice lai aromatic long grain rice pani bhancha. Usually Thai fragrant rice ko naam le pani bazaar ma paucha. Depending on where you are based, Walmart, Taget carry them. All the best!

I got one when I was visiting Nepal. Amazon might as well have them. A regular kadai also works but make sure it is not too shallow. All the best!

@babilabub, that is actually a great question! Matter of fact, I do not see why not, but make sure you drain liquid from the canned corn. Keep us posted here how it turns out, so others can learn as well :-) .

Will try sugar and ghee mixture batter this year. I will probably add bit of cardamom powder as well (I love the smell of it in sel). Yours look absolutely yummylicious.
