I think I used the warp because there is a camera hidden in one of the bonus stages. And I couldn't collect it right away because I need to visit Wrinkly Kong first, so I would have to play the stage pretty much twice just to grab the camera on a second visit. Instead I warp first, and then play the stage once to grab everything in one go

I totally agree, I think some of the levels would have really benefited from the enhanced graphics on the SNES! Maybe we get HD remakes of these games in a few years with all the additional content from the GBA games. Just let me dream and hope..

I was asking myself the same thing, and even in DKC2 GBA, in the original It was and It gave you a DK Coin, but in the GBA one It doesn't.

@@veloxplayer098yeeeah7 I tried it since my last comment, it's indeed required for 105%. I even did everything before the Knautilus and when I have finally beaten the boss, the cutscene where banana birds bring you to the banana bird Queen just started (which was quite weird considering it's supposed to trigger when you have collected the last bird, that makes more sense). Another mystery solved !

As you could see if you watched the video, it's an extra mode that is Diddy only, no DK barrels (replaced with regular wood barrels) or midpoint barrels either. It's like the TUFST or BARRALAX codes.

Its cause of the GBA screen being small and earlier versions not having a backlight.

It's the Japanese version.

That's the point of a speedrun, or in this case a TAS in particular. Things are done in different order to save time, or to get certain items before heading to their respective destinations. Also, as this game gives you so much freedom, there is not really a point in saying that you "should" play the game in a certain way. You can do it as you wish, and other people can do so too if they like their way better. :)

No, the KONG letters are only required in DKC1(GBA) because they will provide you with a camera. In this game they're not needed.
