No, the card is fine as the print on the reverse says "Temporary Visitor" and I have made a couple duty free purchases with that. No problem.

The printed information on the back of the card itself will serve as the "stamp" requirement as it details where and when you arrived.

Bc incidents happen every year and there's riots that go around something like that.

@@kylemh_ are you referring to the bank account? I brought nothing. I don’t have a yellow book (pain in the ass to get) and my last residence certificate is expired. Just showed the passport and eVisa. I was back at that branch for getting a BTS debit card and asked the lady who opened my account what is up with all the reported problems. She said about a week after I opened my account all branches got a letter from the HQ that DTV visas are no longer accepted for new accounts “until further notice” while the bank formulates a policy. Same for KBank which is my main bank. I say hang tight for the moment while the big banks review this or find an agent such as Siam Legal to open an account (aka paying someone off who works at a branch).

Prices change every day. You'll often be able to book a room for 2900++ which is on the lower end for branded select service properties.

@@ericaung592 Central Embassy. However according to the staff there they paused opening accounts for people with the DTV Visa since August 12th per HQ instructions. The banks are currently performing a legal review. Same answer from Kbank which is my main branch.

@@kulkulbelle I like it for the beach and the many pool options. IMHO none of the other resorts can compete in this price class. The old Bali Hyatt (now Regency) is really strange after the renovation.

@@aeroAdvocate agree re the Regency at Sanur! The new branding of the Andaz over there however is great. I’m with you on the beach at Nusa Dua. There’s nothing in Bali to compare to the GH’s position and it’s a big part of me continuing to go back. I love, love their beach. 🏖️

@@animal9370 no, nothing. The bank balance is sufficient. A real bank account as in checking/savings though and no investment or crypto.

Went to Kasikorn Bank too at Thonglo and didn’t work out. Told me need to ask head office and then told me no.

@@Youknowwho737 Hmm strange. Did you email the head office of a few banks yourself? They never said you can’t be on a tourist visa (which the DTV isn’t anyway) but that you needed a “Long Term Visa” and if 5 years isn’t long term then I don’t know what.

@@aeroAdvocate let me try again tomorrow. They specifically told me in the case Kasikorn that cannot be on tourist visa to open bank account. And today Bangkok Bank also told me the same thing. Told me DTV falls under tourist visa as defined by their HQ. But I will keep trying other branches again tomorrow.

@@SUKHUMVITSOI12 It doesn’t matter when you use it once issued but you can only apply up to three months before the supposed arrival date. You don’t need to provide proof though, just enter a date and flight number you intend to arrive on, just look one up that exists so it makes sense.
