Thanks I totally did! Even worse because tomorrow's episode is about Azerbaijan and it's already filmed so I can't throw it in there 😭 I'll have to wait for December to cover it

Great video! Fun fact: Pécs did not just have coal mines, it's the only place in Hungary where uranium was ever mined, one of Pécs's districts is still callled Uránváros=Uranium City. Some of the coal layers here also had dinosaur footprints (Komlosaurus) some of which are displayed at the Natural history museum (also in a university). I've been to Baranya last year and there is a very cool little church a few miles to the west of Pécs called Cserkúti Keresztelő Szent János-templom. It's a 12th-13th century church and has a very noticable Byzantine influence which is fairly unique in Hungary, at least with the original frescos preserved, some are in great condition! I'm usually not super into Christan churches, but I was surprised by these really old paintings.

Most of the pronunciation is slightly off, but honestly not nearly as much as usual by most non-Hungarians. Great job 😊

The mistake that a lot of people make is thinking that the troubles was caused by religious differences. It was largely a political issue, whether you wanted to live in Ireland or the UK. Religion was a broad indicator of your position but was never 100% accurate. What would have always been the key factor was whether or not you felt British or Irish.

Tomorrow is probably the last day of summer here , so I will go for sure to swim in the North Sea, which isn't so cold especially now.😉 In July I was in Bari (Puglia) and it was amazing! Especially the southern part of the Adriatic is so beautiful. You are right about the Italian influence as Venice was ruling also as architecture the other side of the Adriatic. Also on the Greek islands as Corfu and Kefalonia are full of Venician details.
