Thank you! Markusfuller has a good video on this also, which helps you to understand if you have an NPN or PNP transistor. And also, which poles are the Base and Emitter/Collector.

Thank you for the video. Another way to calculate internal resistance is by using 3 parameters below 1.open terminal voltage of the battery(volt) 2.terminal voltage of the battery when connected(supplying) to the resistor(volt) 3.The current flowing in the resistor(Ampere) Deduct 2 from 1( this is voltage drop across battery internal resistance) Divide the result above with 3(ohms)

Thanks for the simple demonstration. My question would be what if you wind the coils tighter instead of having a big hole in the middle, which you filled with iron, what if you filled it with more coils? Seems that would increase the strength, how much is what I wonder.
@redefinitionof
@redefinitionof 3 жыл бұрын
According to formula for the magnetic strength of a Solenoid: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solenoid Magnetic Field: B = μ_0*I*(N/L). Where N/L is the number of windings per meter. So according to the formula the diameter of the coil does not matter.
@murraymadness4674
@murraymadness4674 3 жыл бұрын
@@redefinitionof Thanks for looking into that. The key is the hole is filled with more windings, in fact, if the diameter does not matter, the small size in the hole is less copper for a wind. But maybe the flux loops around the outside and through the inside, so the flux must pass through the center which the iron makes happen easier. I was looking into 'coreless' motors which don't use iron. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_motor#Ironless_or_coreless_rotor_motor

thanks i want another thing that suppose i have to build a big magnet like core size 500x 50mm, and for the same, i am putting nos of turns is 800, then the calculation is B= Mo*H(1+x)= 4* pie*(NI/l)* 5000,where N=800,I=1.5 Amps and l= 50 MM as per calculation it is showing very less T(flux density). Can i right? if not can u shw me the exact formulla or how many turns or Amps to be taken for getting 1 T of flux induction

That can be right. You are only putting in 1.5 A. That is about the maximum current from a 9V battery. If you want to be in the Tesla range, you have to use thousands of Amperes and use Superconductors. On wikipedia I read that a 13.5 T superconducting magnet uses 46 kA!!!

Hi I need to boost a neodymium magnet at a specific time in a motor, do you think replacing the iron core with a neodymium iron boron magnet and then wrapping it with a copper coil will make the magnet stronger if its wired correctly so as not to cancel the magnetic field but to make it stronger?

It's not the math that's off, it's the method of testing. You have to measure the drop in voltage. Internal resistance will come out in milliohms, not ohms. (Vi - Vl) / I where Vi = unloaded voltage, Vl is loaded voltage, and I is the current the battery draws while shorted with the resistor. Additionally, in order to really do it right, you have to measure both the loaded voltage and the current at the same time. Typical resistance of an alkaline 9v battery ranges from 150 to 300 *milliohms*.
@Jnglfvr
@Jnglfvr 2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to measure the loaded current. Unless you don't believe in Ohm's law it is equal to the resistor voltage divided by the resistance. The internal resistance can be derived with knowledge of the open circuit voltage, loaded voltage and resistor load OR open circuit voltage, loaded voltage and loaded current. Either one is just fine.

i also do that with my AA nimh batteries either to have a rough idea of the state of charge or its health. good cells give about 9A while old ones barely 2 to 3A. For obvious reasons this only works for small batteries, anything bigger then 2500mA AA nimh batteries could blow the shit out of the leads or the multimeter itself. Also never test it like this for very long nor very often as this damages the internal chemistry, just hold for a sec so that it stabilizes

transistors have unusual behaviour. some transistors when tested by a multimeter, it may show base and emitter is shorted or the other ways (this is only one example). most of these transistors are used for high voltage like the fly back of the old CRT TVs. some have polarity. NpN or PnP like diode. base to emitter or base to collector. if you tested emitter to collector and it shows a "leak" then refer to the pdf. if using analog tester is way better for me to test these things.

Hi, I know this formula is correct (at least in theory). In pratice, the amperimeter internal impedance could have a huge influence in the measurement. I dont know the actual impedance, but I believe its around 10 ohm. If I am correct about this value, there is a huge error in the current measurement. Anyways, I always prefer to measure the voltage drop in a known resistance to not take the risk.

Possibly... To be honest, the greatest fault in the Macintosh version was simply the publicity. =/ No one knew about it- and of those that did, it was mostly just friends of those who stumbled upon it. If one could advertise it more- get it out to more audiences, turn it into a cult-classic, it could find success. Look at PewDiePie. He just makes videos of playing games. He also has 7,000,000 subscribers. =) It's simply... Luck. People have to tell their friends, it has to spread.

Been a while, I did miss these replies of course. Yet I returned, once more, for nostalgia's sake. I figure it would, probably. Maybe. Maybe needs a bit more scope, another couple of maps for multiplayer or story missions for single players- and a lot of refining for an effective porting. I've refined my opinion since way back when. Success certainly does require a healthy degree of luck, but I was a high school kid when I first rambled about that and now I'm through university. So I figure a lot of it requires good intention and effective approach- and decent marketing. But the biggest part of all that is action, and the resources to maintain that sense of action mentally. You gotta make sure someone somewhere is talking about it. And if people might stop talking about it, you need to remind them by releasing information about it. Sometimes that means adding things to a game, like the big ones do- other times it just means getting someone to write an article about it. Or engaging in a social media structure surrounding it- updating a twitter or a facebook or something that people maintain vague awareness of. It requires effort. And 'luck', but these days I figure that has more to do with **audience**. What do people want? What do they look for? That's what Pewdiepie did right, that's what Angry Birds did right. Apparently geeks like me loved Reactive. It was like... Unreal Tournament, or something. Organic. So effectively what I said 8 years ago, just longer-put. Luck just means community. It's gotta be able to spread. Like a big nasty pandemic or something. >>
@kinnarawanderer

Success? Eh. I don't know. I suppose it's always luck. The perfect amount of people tell the perfect amount of people, and it all just clicks. I never much cared for Angry Birds. >_< Whereas Reactive I stumbled upon searching for piles of demos for my old Mac. Threw it on- wasn't surprised that no one knew about it- but found it marvelously cute and fun. If it were in a different time, and better advertised- it could have been very successful. I miss Reactive. Good times. ^^

@kinnarawanderer

I guess a big part of it is marketing. Because after so long, I'm still here thinking about it- but when I bring it up to anyone, nobody ever knew about it. But it always pops back into my mind. So very novel. It popped back in my mind recently because two games using a similar sort of paper doll-esque physics setup are doing decently well. Thriller games- Hidden Deep and Barotrauma. Made me think of these lovely little lizard dudes again. So it was certainly memorable, at least for me. Just unheard of by the rapidly changing sense of mainstream appreciation. .... Like the boss fight. I recall a fun boss fight. ....
@redefinitionof
@redefinitionof 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it might have been just over the horizon. The doll movement was actually an attempted shortcut, because I did not want to animate movements and the physics engine was in place. In the end I think animating was actually less work.
