I first saw The Marshall Tucker Band in Kansas City at The Memorial Hall, they played with Charlie Daniels and Lynard Skynard , this was 1974 , then I saw them at The Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin Texas around 1975 or 1976 , they were great, the guitar playing and the flute and saxophone, just fantastic

Doug Grey and Toy Caldwell were Vietnam veterans. Doug Grey served as a US Army Sergeant from 1968-70. Toy Caldwell was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. I respect this band and these two men because they took the hard way and came out better.
