This is nowhere near the best CD player Sony ever made, or even at the time in 1994. Way better than most made today, however.

I can hear how sharp those scissors are. After sewing for 43 years, I love the sound sharp scissors make on cotton. This is a wonderful tutorial, though. Thank you so much!

I got ribbon skirt material as a Christmas present, but the gift giver did not put it together. I finally got the courage to make it myself, by looking at this video. I yelled, "Nishke!" The lady is using the same material that I have! This is such a good sign I think. I'm ready to give it a go. Miigwetch.

This film was created for the Macleod Jubilee 1874-1974 and featured participants from the four Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy, as well as many local "cowboys".

I am so confused by the measurements and I don’t know how to make it wider on the bottom so you can walk more comfortably

Add about 3-4 inches. So that would be for a 34 inch waist, adding 3 to both sides would make it 6inches. So add 34+6=40. 40 inches for bottom hem of one panel. Do that for however wide you want it, not too wide though, or it'll look like an umbrella lol😆

I’ve grown up in and around the upstate of South Carolina. My mother had fair skin and sandy blonde hair. I thought for the longest time that she had been sent home with the wrong baby. Where she was fair, I had dark hair deep brown nearly black and a dark complexion that became darker brown in the summer. I knew about my great grandfathers Mother being Blackfeet, but it never occurred to me that I inherited all her traits. Years would pass and I became a nurse. One night my patient kept staring at me. Finally, my interest in why he was staring so intensely. I ask him did I have something on my face. No, he replied. “I was just wondering how you made it to SC from Montana.” I said with this accent you think I’m from Montana. “You have to be because you look like a full blooded Blackfeet Indian woman and there are no Blackfeet in SC. I did tell him I had an ancestor who was full or part Blackfeet. A few months later another patient ask me the same thing. Then I saw a picture of a Blackfoot women in a business magazine while waiting for a doctors appointment. Needless to say I was taken aback by the similarities in features. The woman could have been related to me we favored so closely. With the internet I have been able to see myself in so many of the faces. I wonderful and eerie at the same time.

A few years ago a Ukrainian poet or singer toured western Canada. She was welcomed by the Ukrainian-Canadian community but caused some controversy when she said something like; you can't be truly Ukrainian unless you speak Ukrainian. The heart and soul of a people is in their language. I heard that here tonight. You can't be Blackfoot or understand the Blackfoot worldview, without being able to speak Blackfoot. The soul of the Blackfoot people is in their language.

I also teared with she teared. I moved back to this area after being away for 8 years in New brunswick. I thought about this place every single day during all those years. And I finally am home. And now I have an opportunity to be part of this place which is why I'm watching this video so that I can learn further. Thank you for uploading this very informative video. And know that I too also find this place extremely emotional and spiritual.
