you took the length to be 40 cm but then why did you make a whole on 50.6 cm?
@fashioneducationwithdonnak5657Ай бұрын
10.6 is the diameter of the waist circumference , so it is added to the length

This is the best video about drawing a circle skirt pattern. I was making mistakes when I was drawing before this video. Now I know how to stabilize my pen and measure tape. And it's way too easy to draw that circular line. Thank you!

How glad I am that someone has had the intelligence to do a pattern for a circle skirt without all the faffing with the material, just as you have done. Clever girl you are. Excellent. Of course you can adjust for various options too. For granddaughter, I increase waist and use elastic. Not only is it easier for her, she loves the way elastic can match pocket trim etc. Not forgetting jazzy elastics. I use same method for pleat skirts and ruched. Thank goodness they're in again. Suit me well, double vision in rt eye glasses on off on off, yes you get it, a nuisance, she's worth it. Hope she doesn't come up with any more ideas, my phone is chockablock with screenshots. It's when she says those words, Grandma can you, followed by and would you have enough material for a top? Fashionista at 6. Can't quibble, my Mum was skilled dressmaker worked in Tailor's, you wouldn't have thought she'd 6 of us, and sat up at night doing wedding dresses, which we never saw! We daren't have stepped into her sewing room and she never used a pattern. Sorry Mum! I can trace off though!

This was an awesome video however you lost me when you said you want your length to be 40cm but measure down to 50.6cm why did you measure longer
@xylondacollins2 жыл бұрын
I suck at math. Side seam mean the length of how long or short right? 2 math steps I got confused. 6.28 divide by 67= 10 (radius). Must multiply by 8cm for the waist fold why? 40cm + 1cm (seam allowance)= 50.6, how?

Hi! Great video! What do you do if the difference between the bust and the hip is very different...like 15 and 9 instead of 5 and 5? Thanks! :-)
@fashioneducationwithdonnak56573 жыл бұрын
Hi Robin lets discuss further in next class, as there are a few approaches to that, for example if the waist was a lot smaller than the hip you could split the difference into the darts , for the bodice you probably need to make an adjustment to make the bust bigger, see you on saturday - let me know how you got on with the tiered skirt !!

I just don't understand why my brain refuses to comprehend this no matter how many videos I watch! Why are we using pie? And why did you multiply it by two? Are you making it out of two pieces? Did I miss something?
@fashioneducationwithdonnak56573 жыл бұрын
Hi Raea , its tricky its not just you !!! this style works by formula not block manipulation, we use the formula to create the circles, C =2 Pi R (Pi x 2 = 6.28) To calculate the radius I divide the circumference (waist measurement), there is an amazing app which does it for you. byhandlondon.com/pages/circle-skirt-app
