Fantastic just like the cretaceous video. I wish the full pieces got as much attention as the tidbits on social media.

the attention to detail is amazing. the lonely little fox evokes the solitary journey many little creatures have, wandering the world observing life as they go by.

Really a nice and great created story, I interpret about holding on to a goal&friendship&loss;..just wonder why this FOX appearance is so poor chosen ?..with it's pizza-block head, this somehow worked distracted to me, because it didn't match with the rest of the so wonderfully detailled animation.. I thought there must be a clue behind it, but did not find&get it at the end..maybe someone can explain?

That little fox going in search of his friend the whale. A metaphor for my own search for art inspiration, for some form of passion in my work... I hope I don't discover the sun bleached bones of my inspiration on some soulless beach somewhere...

cg animation - maya, background paintings - photoshop, minor 2d characters animation - photoshop( with animator's toolbar plugin), compositing and fx - aftereffects, sound design and mix - audition, edit - premiere. I should also stress here that this is not a recommendation. i am generally agnostic about software. I myself have moved away from all of the above software for my new projects. Currently i mostly use ipad for all art and paintings, reaper for sound and davinci resolve for all post. Whatever software you have at hand and you find comfortable to use is good !

Thank you so much for sharing your process and thoughts. That adds so much for me to the whole experience, though of course the film stands on its own as a stunning work of art. I would be curious what tools you used for the final animation (Blender?) and which ones you might recommend for someone who would like to get into it as a creative endeavour (rather than career).
@patchoforange6 ай бұрын
Thank you ! On this film ,the character animation was done in maya..the compositing in aftereffects. That said, i am pretty agnostic about software. Any tool you can get your hands on , and find a workflow that adapts to your needs is good. Blender is incredibly powerful and has a fantastic community on youtube !

@@patchoforange appreciate it! Back in the 1990s I was working with early After Effects and Softimage (defunct competitor to what is now Maya).
