I'm unsure actually. Haven't played this fractal since the patch was released. In any case if they did you might wanna actually kill the champions while keeping the minions away from boss to avoid him from gaining stacks which leads to a very long and boring fight.

@@Dwragon. Can go with a dagger but rarely use it midfight (in a 1min Dark AI) might be using like one cast of dagger 5? which has same or less damage than torch skills which have same or lower cd. Dagger could definitely help a bit with condi cleanse if there's afflicted.

I'm not completely sure how the tethering works. One way of preventing it is through stealth before he does the cc animation but I'm also not 100% sure of this to be effective.

There's certain feature that increases your damage by having the boss hit your minions when he has consumed malice orbs. Those are not particularly better utilities, if anything sand portal and spectral grasp could be better choices as you have better mobility to collect orbs and cc.
