The best video I can find to explain about this airport. Please, I hope for an answer. I have a domestic flight to Gaziantep. Is there a passport control at the local airport section? Because I know that the passport control is near the visa office. When I get off the plane, I go directly to the local airport and stamp my passport there.

If you only need a car every once in a while car sharing services are a great option :) Greenwheels or MyWheels or other ones: we have about 6 within walking distance, and we have never not had one available when we needed one. They unlock with an app and for short rentals (a few hours) they are really good value. For longer-term rent, Snappcar (where you rent someone's personal vehicle) is a slightly less convenient but cheaper option.

Frankly, although I'm Dutch, the original Dutch cuisine isn't that spectacular. Besides fish like herring, cod and eel, it seems to mostly consist of hardy, potato-based stews or simple combinations of poultry/fish/meat, potatoes, and vegetables. Most of the stews seem based on farmers recipes to feed the field workers whom had to work outside in a cold and wet climate and could use the calories to keep warm while working. The recipes out of the cities are also simple, which may have to do with a Calvinistic mindset which meant one had to subdue ostentatious expressions of wealth and pride. Even if one could afford exquisite six course meals it simply was seen as an affront to actually display such a lavish lifestyle. As a result "typical Dutch food" is quite simple and not really exciting. Don't get me wrong; I love Dutch recipes and find them often delicious, but am realistic enough to know it doesn't really stand out compared to other national food traditions. Even if you are treated to a traditional festive meal by the Royal Dutch Navy - which I once had the pleasure of - you will be served traditional Indonesian food from our former colonies. Luckily there are some more festive recipes like pancakes and it's miniature cousin "poffertjes". I will throw in "Stroopwafels" as a Dutch delicacy too, but that can hardly be seen as a base for a meal. Don't let this discourage you from trying traditional Dutch dishes even when restaurants serving them are not easy to find. Most of them are easily made yourself with plenty of recipes to be found online. If they're only in Dutch try Google Translate 😉. Mind you, many recipes seem to focus on Dutch pastry like Apple Pie

Great video. As for healthcare; you only pay 385 euros maximum each year. For clarification to some: you do not pay the 385 euros with every bill received. Lets say in January you are treated worth 1000 euros, you pay 385 (eigen risico) which means own risk. After that one payment, the rest of the year you are free of costs because your own risk is already used and paid for. So when u used your own risk payment, it's better to take advantage of it. Ever wanted to check your health in the hospital, now is the time. Make use of this so you wont have to pay the 385 the next year. In my case with extra dental insurance; I got my teeth completely fixed in one year while I only had to pay my own risk (and extra health insure costs each month of course). But the next couple of years, I did not included it in my healthcare because chances are low I need it anyway. Have a great time here in the Netherlands, Rotterdam is a great city!

@Stadtionalist
@Stadtionalist Жыл бұрын
@@CemalGuzelaydin @burgerwithcheese I'm not sure that's entirely correct. Things that are covered with the basic insurance have this "eigen risico" part. You can choose how high that is, but the lowest is 385 euros. With most insurance companies, you can choose to have a higher "eigen risico" to get a discount on your monthly costs tho. Using healthcare that is not covered in the basic insurance (such as dental, eyewear, fysiotherapy, specialized mental care, etc) does not affect the 'eigen risico'. So for example, having the most popular type of dental care (75% covered with a maximum of 250 euros) added to your insurance and going to a dentist for 200 euros will mean you have to pay 50 euros and 150 euros is insured but that 50 euros you pay does NOT affect the "eigen risico". If your "eigen risico" is 385 euros and you end up needing (or wanting) healthcare that is covered by your basic insurance policy, you'll still have to pay (up to) 385 euros yourself. Also be careful with things that ARE covered with your basic insurance (like hospital care), as insurance companies have contracts with specific healthcare providers. So if you need to go to a clinic or hospital to, for example, get a bloodtest, check with your insurance company to see which clinics/hospitals are (fully) covered by your policy. Most insurance companies have a "zorgzoeker" or "zorgvinder" (healthcare searcher) on their website or in an app with which you can search for specific treatments or providers in your local area and will show with whom they have a contract.

But there's the problem, most people can't cook very well. It's why there are so many professionals I guess. They are very good winter foods though and I recommend trying some of it. Recommended: "Rode bieten met speklapjes" "Rode kool met appel en een karbonade" "Andijvie met spekjes" "Hutspot met klapstuk" "Boerenkool met worst" "Zuurkool met stuk spek" "Spek met peren" "Pannekoeken met spel en stroop" "Pannekoek met vanilleijs en geflambeerde kersen" Any of these will be no great challenge for anyone who likes cooking, so give them a try this winter.

Once upon a time, long ago, on the markets you would find typical Dutch products and occasional Indonesian products. But travel and immigration raised the demand for all sorts of vegetables, spices, fruits, meats and fish. So we imported those and soon everything was grown in the Netherlands as well, because where there is trade, Dutch and Dutch farmers will step in. Only a few products are not produced in the Netherlands because of climate and/or because import is cheaper. Rotterdam has the biggest harbor in Europe and from there all more 'exotic' products are distributed all over Europe. That's why the price of import goods is still low, before additional transport costs. Market merchants will scream when they want to get rid of their stock. If you hear 'Strawberries! Two for the price of one!", you will go and have a look, if they are good quality why buy them somewhere else? At the end of market time, prices will drop, but all the good stuff is gone already. Thanks for this entertaining video! Well done! Looking forward for more!
