I really love To Zanarkand and wanted to learn it on the piano. I found your arrangement online and started learning. I'm just a casual player and after 18 months of casual practice I finally gave up in frustration because for the life of me I can't play this 1:50 with my left hand at that speed. Impossibru. And whenever I looked at players on KZbin they seemed to play a much simpler version. Little did I know I picked one of the hardest variations to learn to this song. 😂 It's amazing played right but definitely nothing for me. I'm gonna try to find an easier one.

I really do think you could walk into a saloon in the late 1800s and play this, and no one would think twice.

Just remembered Piano Squall and listening to this makes me feel 10 years younger and filled with the hopes and expectations I've been carrying back then.. His CD actually has a better quality than some "official" recordings, which is quite interesting. And Benyamin Nuss for instance, a German pianist who his well known for his Final Fantasy interpretations, gets praised and rewarded and every now and then... he deserve's it for sure, but lacking comparison I didn't back then know how good Piano Squall actually was.. Anyway, thx for the upload!

In chinese music website, few people listened this album, but as for me, this is the best piano medley of final fantasy(except the dancing mad)

I remember a few years back I used this work and performance of yours as the foundation of my own version( now long lost). I've come back looking for this because I was requested to play this piece at a gig. I am proud to say that what you played then was so hard for me to grasp, I played and incorporated part of your version of this music into my own but took me a month to master it(might have been longer than that. Now that I'm working on this again I was able to play your version in less than an hr.. I'm so proud of myself. I wonder how much have you improved.. greetings from NJ.

someone get this guy a metronome
@Harlem559 жыл бұрын
+gozhn the metronome is the enemy of rag. The style is not meant to be played in strict time, but relatively loosely.
@blizzyblaze978 жыл бұрын
+John Doe Yea that's true, ragtime is a fun, let-loose type of genre!
@blizzyblaze978 жыл бұрын
+gozhn Ragtime is supposed to be played whimsically, and that's exactly how he played!
@Harlem558 жыл бұрын
Drew Hart Whimsically, to a degree, perhaps, but rag also relies heavily on the eighth-note feel (i.e. 2/2 timing.) Here, we find that it ended up with a situation where the melody ends up an eighth note behind the beat, which is a technique used in jazz, not ragtime. the rag style syncopates across the bar line with relatively strict time (though a bit looser, with much less emphasis on the first eighth note of the bar than a march) as opposed to playing behind the beat as we do in jazz which only works because of swing time. (i.e. two eighths = quarter-eighth triplet.) This is why, in this example the bass line appears to get lost after the first several bars, and near the end, I find that I have no idea where he is in the score when reading through it.

+Labia Majora's Mask yet Sephiroth was better than 8
@ZedaneXlll9 жыл бұрын
***** what i meant to say was; the character Sephiroth is the best part of FF7 specially since his legacy continued in the Kindom Hearts franchise therefore his awsomeness alone is > the game FF8 even if 8 is better than 7.
@gnkVLCT6 жыл бұрын
The last two FF I played many many many years ago were 7 and 8. Both games excellent, but for me there was something about 8 that I enjoyed more, especially the battles.
