Paddled Guardia Gulch back in the 90s . One guy that swam got very sick. Must have been from all the corn eyed brown trout they were releasing into the creek back then

Awesome coverage. I used this and the AW page to scout every rapid at low water. This was Extremely helpful. What rapids and lines have changed since this video was made on the whole river, not just this video?

Your welcome glade it was helpful. People have quit running double undercut. Most people go right now at the entrance to the falls. Other that that can't think of a whole lot more. Most rapids only have one or 2 ways to run them so the lines don't change a whole lot.

Thank you for this: My grandparents owned the farm along the left hand shore. The pavilion you passed that was edited out, during the Stillwater is were my fiancee spent our first weekend together 24 years ago next month.. The waterfall at 3:30 is one of my favorite places, you can actually walk in behind it and sit. Any more foot

We used to hang out on the old bridge abutment next to where you launched, one evening our friend Dave Porter went into town to gather some more friends and get some beer. Ihe came over the hill up by the canal too fast, spun out and rolled his car three times. We were dumbstruck!! Somehow no one was seriously injured.

Yeah. It is always a big worry of mine. Trees are one of the most dangerous things on these runs.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that some of the rapid labels are in the wrong spots Know where to run starts at 1:44 Chaos starts at 2:36 Bouncer starts at 4:00 5:30 is lower bouncer Pec starts around 7:00

I found a couple of kayakers at the takeout and begged them to run my shuttle with vehicle. Everything is good and I am still kayaking a bunch. I have a ton of footage but just haven't had a chance to make any videos. Nice to hear from you.

Loved this run. The breaks are class II, so you get no rest, especially mental rest. I did the whole 14 miles only twice. My preference was maybe half this flow.

@@JohnMoorekayak Always wanted to run that, but never got the chance, but heck, I'm too old now. NRG was my playground for over a decade. I ran the gorge many times with the Burnedout Canoe Club, but I'm a WV resident. I really enjoy your videos. Brings many memories back.

Okay, just watched all 4 parts - what a great river. Did you do it all in one day or split t up? Have you ever done any over night river-side camping on any river you've done? Any swims from anyone on this trip?

We did the run in 2 days. A lot of people will take 3 days . Yeah we have done the south merced, clavey, north mokelumme fantasy falls section, romaine river, rubicon, south fork salmon, meadow creek of the selway, selway, and some other ones I can't remember right now. I think we had one swim on this trip.

What a great river! Glad to see it's a long video - you totally can do the rapid at the end - Fish Jump and Coyote Falls at the beginning - was the other guy not as strong a paddler as you?

He is a strong paddler. Coyote Falls looked kind of ugly at that flow. Seemed like it would go better at higher water. Fish jump would definitely have gone. Just worried if one of us or both of us didn't make it we could lose our gear. Yeah it is a great run.

What a beautiful river. I’m 74 now but ran the north fork countless times (often with snow on the banks) when I was younger. I paddled a C1 and this was the perfect river for the c boat. Only an hour from my house. Ah, the memories.

I know the route well. I grew up as a teenager in Hawkinsville in the 1970s. We used to take that route in inner tubes during the summertime. We used large truck or tractor innertube's. We certainly never went when the water was this high, though. That is dangerously high water you were kayaking in there!!!😮

We took out at the 200 foot waterfall. If the seven falls section is below that I did not do that section.

@@ratrodramblin I think we took at here 39.705649, -121.244254 and hiked up to milsap bar road. This is where we putin 39.709674, -121.194512. I know there are several large waterfalls below where we took out. I did not know it was called seven falls.

@@JohnMoorekayak Ok. You guys enter by the bridge where I thought and where you take out I looked at Google maps I have a pin drop just upstream where the coordinates you gave me. Lol almost exactly the spot. Locals call it Seven Falls because of the seven waterfalls. But there are a lot of falls around there. It's all burnt up there now but that's pretty cool. There's a log laying almost vertical at one of the pools which had me realize that's where you ended up at. It was a beautiful swimming spot not a lot of people knew about but like I said it's all burnt.

I am sure people have passed away on this section. The whole river bed is a jumble of rocks full of sieves. It is a great whitewater run except for the hazards.

Your videos are so fun to watch. I didn't know there was an East Fork of the Salmon until I was just studying my Sawtooth's/Whiteclouds topo map. Would this be similar to the North Fork Payette? Unreal!

Thanks. Yeah it is big pushy fast water with long rapids. Flight simulator is a long tough rapid. Especially at higher flows than this. I would say this is easier than the north fork overall

This flow would be too high. I really wouldn't want to inner tube it at any love. Lots of sieves and undercuts to go into.
