Loved this video! One of the things that keeps us from going in the woods more often is the ticks! Since your kids play in there a lot do you use something each day on them to keep ticks away or ticks are just part of the package?

Is the text book book being read at 4:20 part of the nature study? Or is that a supplementary book? Just trying to get an idea. I wish I had learned this as a kid and would love to learn alongside my kiddos one day soon!

Such a relatable morning! Thank you ☺️ I don’t like to be that person who comments and tells people what to do, but from personal experience, I sometimes love hearing these tips from others. I think that’s amazing that you have one hour to take a walk outside and I think an extra benefit you could get is taking a walk without your glasses to get the sunlight into your eyes. I just recently learned about this and I started to take my walks without my glasses in the morning and it has been a huge game changer to my mental health. That morning light plays a big role in how we feel 💖💖

Agreed with others, it was so helpful and nice to see Nature Study and homeschooling in action! This is such a wonderful part of a complete education! I'd like to homeschool my 4 yo girl. She goes to a very good daycare now while I work and take care of medical issues, but our family is in a position for me to homeschool her when she turns 6. Can you provide advice through videos and/or blog posts about getting spouses fully on board? My husband is not categorically against homeschooling, but isn't entirely convinced. The grandparents don't know anything about my intentions, and are operating on the assumption that she'll go to public school. I know it's the parents' decision, and in America we're very independent. Native born Americans will tell us to ignore the grandparents entirely. While I'm firm in my decision that homeschooling and Nature Study are the best for our child, we immigrated here and extended family opinions are something we'll need to deal with. One cannot ignore the opinions of family entirely and also expect them to be part of your childcare "village". This is the major shortcoming of the standard American advice. While I personally care less about the negative family judgement than my husband, it will be there. Any advice?
@TreehouseSchoolhouseАй бұрын
It’s great that you’re thinking ahead about homeschooling! It can be hard balancing family opinions, especially when homeschooling is new to them. Involving your spouse in research and showing the benefits of homeschooling and Nature Study can help him feel more confident. Sharing positive stories or resources with grandparents might also ease concerns, showing them it’s not about isolation but creating a rich, flexible education. Ultimately, it’s a decision for you both, but involving family thoughtfully can make the journey smoother. 💛
