This was going along well until I got to the two forward bolts. Two hours of frustration later, I finally decided to buy a snake light/camera to see the actual bolts. The Torx head is just spinning around in there. I'm guessing that I'm missing the mark, somehow. The angle is too poor to see. 😢😢😢

I just hope the mic is more robust than the traditional one offered by Sena. The little arm which holds the mic doesn't last! I'll give a try to the Sena Cavalry instead which offers an integrated mic.

did you ever find the way to stop the hyperflash
@nuke60302 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. There is no way to program the hyperflash out of the bike itself. It seems the best way to stop the hyperflash was to change the LEDs themselves to ones that had internal resistors. I recorded a video with this upgrade but I haven't uploaded it yet. I need to do that.

Thanks for the video, especially about the ear pads. My Sena came before the pads. I discovered the zip-out neck curtain in my Bell Pit Boss had audio pockets, so I used it. It works! Pro: no additional cost. Con: 1) might be too hot (I’ll see), 2) the wires out of the Sena face the back; must be wrapped around the front side of the helmet’s ear piece (the wires show on both sides). Not a big deal to me.
@nuke60303 жыл бұрын
I considered using the zip-in neck warmer as speaker pockets, but its VERY HOT in the summer to ride with that fur against my ears and neck, especially on longer rides. The ear pods are a good compromise on those hot summer days. Since the recording of this video, I've moved this setup to a Vega Warrior helmet which is much more comfortable. That helmet doesn't have a zip-in neck liner so the speaker pods worked out beautifully. Thanks for the comment!

@@nuke6030 That looks like a clone of the Pit Boss, but I really like the quick release instead of D rings. Might have to give that a whirl next time I need one! I almost have to wonder if the visors are interchangeable ...

Sir, quick ? Your helmet does it have the flip down lens? I have the same one with Harley model and I was told I cannot use a short style helmet Thank you.
@nuke60303 жыл бұрын
Yes, sir it does. The pit boss helmet has the pull down visor on it. Harley did made a version of the pit boss for a short time. I have since moved this setup to my Vega Warrior helmet and it performs exactly the same. Installation was exactly the same as the pit boss.

Hey Nuke, thanks for the video. I wanted to let you know that if you’re unhappy with the speaker pockets you bought, the zip in liner that comes with your pit boss has integrated pockets for your speakers. Thanks again.

Nuke, appreciate the video. Apologies if you covered my question and I missed, but why didn’t you use the speaker pockets in the zip-in neck collar?
@nuke60303 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. I didn't use the zip-in neck collar because it's HOT!!! I have a full face I wear in the winter time for cold weather, but in the summer, the zip-in collar is too warm around the back of my neck. The ear pockets were a good compromise, even though my ears still get a little warm on longer rides. Great question though!

Nice color. Which is more comfortable and has more luggage space, this F3 or Spyder RT limited?
@nuke60303 жыл бұрын
DrDennis77, sorry for the delayed response! My answer depends on which RT Limited we are talking about. The 2020 RT Limited got a significant redesign that actually made it much more close to an F3 Limited than the previous model. So my answer is: Pre-2000 RT Limited is NOT as comfortable, and has about the same luggage space total. I think it has a smaller trunk, and the saddle bags may be the same or a little smaller than the F3, but the frunk is bigger because of the radiator placement. It's not as comfortable because of the taller seating position, the mid control foot placement (giving you a much more upright riding position), and non-adjustable handlebars. The 2000 and later model RT Limited is EQUALLY comfortable and has MORE luggage space total than the F3 limited. Both machines share the exact same trunk and saddle bags, so the storage is equal, however, the new RT Limited maintains a larger frunk than the F3 again due to the radiator arrangement on the RT allowing for a bigger front case. The new RT has floorboards much like the F3 and the new seating position is nearly identical to the F3, however the RT has an adjustable windshield, so that may be a plus, and it also comes with heated seats, something the F3 doesn't have. Other than that, the F3 and the 2000+ RT Limited are nearly identical in comfort, but the RT has SLIGHTLY more storage in the frunk.

Lamonster definitely makes some outstanding products! There are now a couple of solutions for the vibrating mirror problems for the F3. I use the Echo brand quick release system. I prefer it over the others because it uses a metal to metal closure. I feel more secure when it's not relying on plastic to stay closed. You can purchase it on Amazon if you can't find it at your local motorcycle shop. It comes in a bunch of different colors too. Here's the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/Echo-Quick-Release-Black-Size/dp/B002MQCY7C
