The principles Jocko teaches (here, his other books, and on his podcast) are solid, time tested, and objectively proven to not just work but are the foundation of personal achievement and good human interactions. He would be the first to say this is not some "new secret information" that he alone figured out, but learned from other great leaders. It's too bad we can't upload/download this to our offspring, each new person has to learn it for themselves.

I thought the best advice Jocko gave was to write down everything you plan on doing the next day. I started doing it and it's really helped a lot. Seeing my tasks for the day and crossing each one off over the course of ghe day is extremely satisfying. I've started small but I'm planning on building up as time goes on.
