huh. I'm not impressed for the size.

It's not going to get 17 HP. Not with the stock head and just a 265 cam. GPS should know better and give the customer the choice of what rod comes with their kit. Every 196 I have opened had the piston .038" or more in the hole and should get a plus .020" rod. Let's say the Honda is different from the clones. You would still choose a piston, measure in the hole, then choose rod length and head gasket. The last 196 I built used a flattop piston and a plus 20 rod that got me .020" in the hole. With a .010" head gasket I have the .030" piston to head clearance you want with these engines. My rod and head gasket choice came after the new piston in the hole measurement.

I have a hrr2169 that said rear wheel drive on the box so I figured it was self propelled. I was wrong. Still a nice mower but definitely a workout going up hill. It can handle about 2 ft tall grass that I let grow out because it is just too hot in Florida to want to go out and cut it.
