There is no such thing as bad Medtner's piece, even his first piece are so superb, delicate and based, like this one!

A really good performance of a very fine symphony. One or two points: i) This symphony is known universally as Opus 18 No 4 (the Warburton numbers are rarely used, and certainly not in place of the well-known Opus numbers). ii) Regarding the description note: JC was hugely important to Mozart who loved both the man and his music, something he openly acknowledged; including Haydn in the comment as well however is simply wrong - during his Eszterhaza years, not a single work by JC was ever performed there by Haydn and the ‘influence’ was precisely zero.

I agree. I would also add that he had little to do with the development of the sonata principle: by the time he arrived in London the sonata principle was already the bread and butter for many leading instrumental composers. He may have contributed to its establishing in London, but developing? No.

This is a harpsichord concerto. It has to be performed on a harpsichord and not on a modern grand piano!

At a minimum, you should put the performer’s name (Hae-Won Chang) at the top of the description. Title or first thing in the video would be even more respectful.

Hummel and Krommer- two tremendously gifted and imaginative contemporaries of Beethoven and Schubert but sadly so overshadowed they get almost no airtime. Thank you for posting this.

Marx is an incredibly underrated composer. I hope this, as well as his "Romantic" concerto, enter the piano repertoire someday.
