Presta valves suck!They damage more easily and turn loose if using a screw on hand pump. Schrader valves are more durable and reliable. You were a bit dramatic about how to release air out of a schrader valve. I use my thumbnail.

The instructions I was given when purchasing my Brita were a bit unclear. Seeing this helped clear it all up. I swear I can taste a strong enough difference when comparing two glasses. Thank you for walking me through this!

I just burned through 2 hours of frustrating madness because these instructions are incorrect. NEVER remove the long bolts that connect to the rubber straps if you ever have any intention of putting the towers back on. Trying to line the bolt up to the barrel but inside is a nightmare if you do this, and there is absolutely no need to remove the bolts. All you need to do is loosen them up enough to unlatch the strap and the towers come off easily.

The tower part that houses the long fitter you removed first… is there a way to clean that area? It looks like it has a screen on each section that has dirt inside?

Sorry, but that price is outrageous. I priced Trex at HD, before buying new pressure treated 5/4 deck boards. The standard, pressure treated boards cost around 1/3 the price of the Trex and they won't burn my dog's feet in the heat of the summer.

Make note that when you disconnect the hose from the side tank, residual water in the base of the side tank will also drain. Be ready to catch that or it will drain all over your counter.

It sounds like you may have 14 gauge wire with a 20 amp circuit breaker. If so, you should change the breaker to 15 amp.

Just being able to press onto a Presta valve with your finger to let some air out does not make it better. Have you tried dealing with a Presta valve after you'd accidentally (and easily) bent the valve stem just by being a little too clutzy with your pump head? Schrader is the one that works _in the real world._
