I've got a lot of old tunes for old words. I wish I could write a new tune, Alas!

Some years ago I did. They were not good. I relate to how Hammerstein wrote lyrics for Rogers, and Gilbert wrote them for Sullivan, so I'm in a safe space as a lyricist.

The text is the Psalm, which has been rendered into metered, rhymed verse in English, then set to an old tune.

I could only find the score for the lead lines. You can perhaps find one by searching through the tune name.

It was ours in Holland MI today, too (RCA). Our pastor worked with the gospel text, though. Which I also posted as a video recently. I recommend that you listen. You might find it fun.

@@alexataiwan3 Our Gospel Lesson was Luke 6:20-31. Our Psalm was #149. And our New Testament (Epistle) Lesson was Ephesians 1:11-23.

I'm free enough of the attempts I would have made as a younger man to "spiritualize" the entire book. I had no idea, when I began to set its poetry to music, that it would be SO erotic. This one was probably the most graphic of the 20-odd that came out of the project. I hope you enjoy them all.
