They sure are. There are thousands there, it is a shark nursery. That is why it is called Shark Bay. They are harmless, I have dived amongst them.

Keith Bagshaw Thanks, that drone has over 80 flight hours on it now and over 400 flights. It is getting a bit tired with fatigue cracks in the body shell so next time ai will be a little more “daring,” as it is now living in borrowed time!

mei swan lake Thanks. You are welcome to use the footage for non commercial purposes. Attribution at the end is required, and a link to the final product. I did a significant amount of editing of this footage including colour grading and sound editing/correction. The original source was recorded onto a VHS tape with a Hitachi porta pack, which I still have. Regards Philip

Hi Dean, can't believe my son who can be heard with toddler talk through this video is now coming up 37 years of age. I remember when a person 40 years old was a really old man! You might be surprised to learn the lead commentator in this video can be heard in Perth TV ads quite frequently, although I don't think you would recognise the voice or context!

Thank you Philip... for this rare video of an important and lost piece of Western Australian history... Brings back memories!! My family and I recently wandered around the old grounds and can't believe how nature has taken over. Very nostalgic. More needs to be done to preserve what is left. (join 'Bring Back Atlantis Marine Park' on Facebook!! We can't deny Alan Bond did a lot for Western Australia, but he is remembered as a shyster by many, and he was in certain ways. He did bring the Americas cup to Fremantle in 1983 and that town was transformed and has never looked back!! He tried to do the same for Two Rocks with Atlantis but the world economy tanked, and the visionary entrepreneur never fullfilled his dream. When Atlantis closed, it made Two Rocks a ghost town overnight and Atlantis became a ruin. It is now recognised as a historical site, but how much of it I don't know. The dolphins were given the best care and released back into the ocean in stages, though some struggled to adapt and 3 were poisoned by an unidentified murderer. God bless.
@SammyBabee247 жыл бұрын
Hi Dean and Philip, i work at two rocks and i am told by locals that the dolphins that got released often came back into the same marina! As the economy is rising at a rapid rate i think reopening the park would make two rocks flourish with life! As i'm only 21 and only got to hear stories and see videos like these makes me think how big two rocks could have been if the park had stayed open... I for one am definitely going on the facebook petition to try get it reopened, it will take someone with a lot of money and investing but i personally think it will all be worth it! Cheers.

austrlians dont think proper should apply the transformers fomula of changing to any shape or thing large loads can be converted to a beautiful mini and driven nicely and then after a few beers at the job site change back
@darrenb663 жыл бұрын
im pretty sure you dont think proper, so your ignorance will be forgiven but let me educate you a little to save you from making such stupid statements in the future...... most of Australia's mines are in or around cultural and historical areas of significance and therefor the foot print and damage to the environment needs to be kept to a minimum so there cant be much in the ay of manufacturing in the local area and the time and effort to transport as you put it mini over nearly 2000 kms would make the cost of the machinery grossly prohibitive

Hi Philip! Really like the look of the video. Could you tell me with what camera was it filmed? thanks :)
@Philip165210 жыл бұрын
It was filmed with a hand held spring driven German made "Eumig" standard 8 camera on Kodak movie film. I still have both the camera and the film, although after 50 years a lot of the film has faded into clear acetate. This clip is from a frame by frame digital conversion of the film, each image colour corrected, stabilised and edited in iMovie, cutting out the faded sections. The camera would still work if I could get film, but the film was last available in about 1966, so it is now a relic.
