what are your thoughts on the string widths? the 15SM has slightly more space than the 15M. For finger style do you think it's worth to go that way or does the 000-15M do okay? I ask because I have a GPC-16E with spacing very similar to the 000-15M and occasionally I get a bit too close to other strings - some buzz.
@ed_music183410 күн бұрын
Hi Sir, I would prefer a wider width for fingerstyle, something like that of the SM or similar so as not to have some buzz while playing. The 15M is will do just fine but it will take some getting used to due to a narrower nut width. In my experience it serves well and its so comfortable to use. I would suggest to experience them first in your local dealer before buying.
@mikeward292210 күн бұрын
@@ed_music1834 yeah, if only they can keep an SM in stock. I think the closest one is 90 miles. I am going to go play a 000-15M tonight though. Exciting.

@@mikeward2922 90 miles isn't too far for a life guitar. I had to get mine online being a lefty. Sweetwater was good. @@teampangz1000 Hi! That's a difficult one right there. Both are great guitars but I think you would be more comfortable with the SC13 as it has a shallow depth than the 214. The 214 has an advantage and will sound bigger as its a much larger. I think what can lead you towards the purchase is the comfort factor. I suggest to try them both in your shop.

Great comparison! Both great guitars with subtle differences. I’ve owned the 10E for a year & 3 months now, and it’s great, esp after a setup, but I do wonder if I should’ve gone with the 15! I live in an apartment with fluctuating temps, so the Richlite is a good thing for me. Are you using Monel strings on both? The shop I bought mine from mistakenly put on Lifespan 80/20s, which were good, now I have Lifespan PBs to see what the factory strings would sound like, but I want to try the Monels or Kovar strings next. I think I may stick with one of those as I’m not sure I’m a fan of the PB sizzle. What bridge pins are those? I had my tech put in TUSQ pins to match the saddle material.
@ed_music18343 ай бұрын
@@PerAliaPorcem Hi there and thank you. Yes I use Monels for both, its my go to strings and it suits well with the mahogany. PB's would definitely bring that sparkle out of the wood but to make it warm and darker the Monels will do that. The bridge pins are both ebony btw. The nut and saddle are stock for both, didnt change them.

Very different sound. I'm buying the 000-10e because I can't afford the 15 and I think is a good guitar for the price. But the 15 it is on another league, it has something "magic" tone-wise.
