i have a group chat with some online friends since 2016, i talked a lot with Friend A and Friend B. Sadness gives comfort while listening to this song, i can't express it clearly enough with words. (this also played in sex education if you've watched it, that's where i've discovered it from.)

Gen Xer here, used to listen to this when I was 14 years old. Then I forgot all about it, for 30 years. Kept listening to a few other Smiths songs (Please Let Me... This Night Has...etc) , but this one somehow got lost in my memory. And then it comes out on the British show Sex Education (great soundtrack all around) and I’ve been listening to this over and over since then. So sad and melancholy and beautiful and heartfelt and it makes you feel like you can express these feelings...and I’m 14 again....

I'm here because of all the losses I have suffered in the last ten years. My husband, my brother in law and my son in law, all years in between. When I hear this song it reminds me of the immense pain they all suffered and just couldn't handle being here anymore. They left behind family and children.....I NEVER want to feel like that and so I listen and remind myself to NEVER feel like that.
