Which federation? What form of goju ryu? Of all the katas shown in your style on your channel, I believe this is the one that changes the most from that practiced in traditional goju ryu O_O. Almost no movement practiced in the same way...

This is totally NO Sanchin Kata! With appreciation of Sensei position, but that is something very awful, because if you know the logic basics of this kata, you will know how should be the movements !

Mind you, I guess this is a federation thing, but if you're in a federation like IOGKF, there are quite a few things here that could be considered errors :$. Small details, but when put together they form a big whole. For example at 0:30, the foot of the returning leg should normally be slightly behind the first and not in front, the arms should change height almost one after the other and not at the same time, and following an arc of a circle and not a straight line, etc. Once again I'm not saying it's bad, maybe that's just how we practice in this federation. But for a lot of others, that's not what you should do...

This is not either of the traditonal Goju-Ryu Sanchin kata I have been doing for 30 years. (Sensai Morio Higaonna Lineage).

Yes. And there is no deep kime, no Goju breathing co-ordination. This is the Shito-Ryu variety.

@@churchofgod4016 Thats what i noticed, in the yuishinkan kata (kisaki lineage) we place great importance on the breathing and i missed that totally in his demonstration. So breathing overall is not that much of a deal in shito ryu ?

Absolutely ridiculous remark. In every form of karate you can find someone to say "mine is the best", it's distressing and a total lack of respect. The truth is that there is not really a "best" style of karate, there are forms more or less adapted to each practitioner. And in all styles there will be good and bad teachers anyway. The important thing is not to know which style is better than another, the important thing is to choose a style that suits you, and to find a school with a competent teacher. And in a martial art anchored in Japanese etiquette, with these rules of conduct, respect, a self-defense philosophy, Zen, etc., the simple fact that someone says "we are the strongest" is a sufficient reason to think that you have understood nothing and for me not to want to go towards this style, or at least your school...
