The AE-1 doesn't have a burst mode. It is capable of continuous advance when using a Canon Power Winder, which is a device that is attached to the bottom of the baseplate. It uses an additional four AA batteries, and this would advance the film automatically at about a frame a second.

I've owned a Canon EOS 50 with a 35-135mm lens since 1996 and it's been with me across the U.S., France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. This year, I took it out of its decade-long retirement to practice film photography again. In addition, I picked up an EOS 55 and a 28-80 lens in Japan for under $80. Here are some issues to look out for in this camera. 1. The door hinge is very fragile, so close it gently. Mine broke in 2001 and it cost me $72 to get the hinge replaced. You can now order a 3D printed hinge online (do a search on the DIY video). 2. Over time, the battery lid hinge will sag, causing the battery to lose contact with the camera. The solution I had was to fold a small sheet of paper into 2-3 layers and use it as the bottom filler of the battery.

I agree, they're very versatile cameras. The Elan iie I have has been one of my go-to cameras for years. I picked mine up in 2011. Great tips on the film door and battery lid👍

This revoked some memories. In 1977 I had a training in Amsterdam on repairing this camera. This was my first training trip abroad for camera repair. I was allowed to keep the camera that I stripped apart, reassambled and adjusted. I later worked in all kinds of work in the photo busyness, like maintaining one hour photolab equipment.

That must have been an incredible experience! 😲 Spending time in Amsterdam and learning to work on cameras, very cool.

How do you know when you reach frame one? I just got a one because I love film but I am new to it.
@virgmos4 ай бұрын
Great question. Above the advance lever, there's a small frame count window. As you advance the film, it will move the count up. It starts with two dots, then a red zero, and then another dot. This is frame one. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Do the ME supet need battery for it to work ?
@virgmos4 ай бұрын
It will only work at 125th of a second shutter speed without the battery. It's nice feature to have in case the battery runs out, though you'll need to use a light meter app.

У нас в России на б/у рынке эту камеру продают минимум за +-150 долларов. Думаю нормальная цена.
@virgmos5 ай бұрын
I agree, +-$150 is about normal with a good lens.

150$ is overpriced, at least in Canada I found it at 60-80$

Nice! I agree it truly is a great little camera. Thanks for the advice about shutter issues. Yes, it's always best to check thoroughly before buying any vintage camera. So far mine has given me very few issues. Hopefully, it keeps going strong. I really do enjoy using it!
