Great video!! I wish you had focused a little more on explaining the stitch you did to connect the pieces, im really struggling to figure out what exactly you're doing...

This is awesome! Thanks! I never understood how you can use a sewing machine on chunky knit. The knit gets all tangled down in the bobbin and not to mention the thread will break if you stretch the sweater band

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! This is EXACTLY what I needed! I want to crop a knit sweater, and even though I do have a sewing machine, it didn't seem to be the right way to go with the big large knitting pattern full of holes (or I'm just too scared, haha)! This method is PERFECT, especially since it doesn't use a lot of things! THANK YOU AGAIN!

You're so welcome!! Yes, I had a similar thought process with using a sewing machine. Let me know how it goes!

How did you finish the sides after sewing? By the way, this answered SO many questions I had about this method. Thank you!
@paperandleef
@paperandleef Жыл бұрын
Thank you! For the sides, I decided not to cut the excess off since I was afraid of it fraying. That'll have to be something I trial and error next! I recently learned of a technique called steeking that is supposed to prevent fraying, but I haven't tried it yet.

Hi! Thanks for this tutorial. Were the seams difficult? Did you have to go through any additional steps there or was it all the same process?
@paperandleef
@paperandleef Жыл бұрын
Thank you! From what I remember cropping at the seams was not bad although I did have to make sure all loose ends were secure (most likely with double knots) when I separated the sections.

I think this is called Kitchener stitch? You use it to close up the toe of socks when you knit them. Thanks for a great video, I’m going to try it.
