Beautiful car, in such amazing condition. My dad had one of these as his works car in the late 60's early 70's. He was a recruiting Sgt in the Army careers office in Newcastle. His was a darker green. Coincidently his first car was a Morris Minor.

Just imagine if these had 100% aluminium bodies and a bulletproof motor and gearbox and a solid suspension, they would have left Volkswagons for dead, but no the Brits are blinded like American's by the shiny coin on the footpath but miss the valuable note not far from it.

Prefer more sporty little numbers, but as a mechanic, you have to appreciate the simplicity.

My Grandad had one of these in late sixties. I was about six or seven years old. My Grandad was a bus driver. He was the most peaceful calm person I have ever experienced in my life. He died when I was about nine. Oh to know him now I’m sixty one. 💓👍✨💫

Did you know this bodyshell was designed for a tranverse engine/transmission but the confidence in the design wasn't acceptable to BMC at the time until the Mini came along.
@michaelmouse52102 ай бұрын
Actually was originally designed to take a flat 4 boxer engine. Original prototype was known as the mosquito. Helps explain the massive amount of working space around the A series engine in the Minor.

@@michaelmouse5210 That makes sense because wasn"t Nuffield offered VW as part of the British post war zone in Germany but he turned it down. Thanks for your input.
