My wonderful dad, who passed away in June this year 😢 x

@merynwoodland822 Hello Meryn. I have spent over 13 years collecting these 1,341 beach testimonies (so far) and your Dad was a massive highlight. I felt he let me into a thousand years of Selsey fishing and community heritage through your family, so thank you. I have put his interview on the site's homepage, along with others who made a strong impression on me. If I was you, I would be very proud. All the best. Cheers.

@@manonabeachjourneys i love the exercises at the end! Muriel was from the same Porthallow Bastian family as me, so i've heard about her, but it's wonderful to be able to see her, thanks again.

Evie looke a bit suprised at first. By the way that was a beach that the Nazis considered a good place to land their army in 1940. Never happened of course but if you really think about it just such a place is Filey bay. Saving Private Shultz anyone ...

My husband and I stood on a bluff overlooking Baltos beach on a hot day; there wasn't a human in sight, there wasn't a breath of wind and the sea was a beautiful, crystal clear turquoise with a lone seal playing in the shallows. Heaven on earth.

Due to the abundance of silica on the beach (due to the China Clay industry inland,) when the beach is dry and the sun is shining it sparkles.

Some of those caves connect to the old mine workings of Wheal Coates. One in particular, The Vugga, can be found on the beach directly below the Towanroath engine house on the cliff and serves as an adit (or drain) for the now flooded Towanroath pumping shaft that continues 450ft below sea level. A very interesting beach is Chapel Porth...
