@КейлиТамирианская best villain in the series? that would be emperor mateus palamecia... exdeath second, ultimecia 3rd. kefka might be in the top 5 due to lack of decent villains from decent games, but the best? not even close... ff8 doesnt suck, its story was not lame.. ff12 and up have lamer stories, 10-2 had an okay story albiet extremely cheesy but the game itself sucked except for via infinito, and ff7 had an option to have cloud go out with barret, and then there was the part where you had to have cloud cross dress and get in a hot tub with a load of dudes.. if that wasnt gay i dont know what was.. ff8 had the most badass summon system in the series despite being weaker than ff7s.. and the only idiots were zell and irvine.. well, maybe seipher could be considered one as well, but the vast majority are far superior to anything in ff10.. a story is its characters best traits and the plot details. ff8's is good because its villain created a superweapon and utilized time travel mechanics to dominate the past by way of a puppet ruler. ff7 may have more in the way of scifi badassness, but ff8 is every bit as good through its own means..
