I made it and it tasted good. However, don't add a full cup of water; use only 3/4 cup or half a cup instead. Also, it wasn’t fully cooked. I believe making it thinner will help.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You could definitely try baking it if trying to lower calories. Personally, I'm not concerned with calories and am pro healthy fats in high amounts for their benefits for the brain and helping to balance blood sugar. But if someone has an issue with that, they can for sure try making it.

Why did my flat bread come out gummy ?
@livingwithedenstreasures
@livingwithedenstreasures Жыл бұрын
Cassava often is gummy.. it's just its nature. With ours it can be gummy too but if you roll it thin it isn't as gummy but if it is thick then it will be gummy. Adding hot water helps with the gummy by making it easier to get it thinner.. it makes it almost like it has gluten in it texture wise. The brand will affect it too.. what brand did you use? We had got some from Azure and the taste and texture was not as good as the brand we use at all.. it was actually a chore for us to use it up because it just wasn't good. I have a link to the brand of flour we use in the description of this video. We have actually been liking adding the Tapioca starch in the mix better than just the cassava flour.. we use the same brand.

Hey there, have you thought about putting 1 bucket in the far corner your injured hen could use? Others may use it too but it's a thought. I also put golf balls in each box and it helped. I wish I had come across a video like this months ago! My chickens are just coming up on a year old and when I caught my rooster in the nesting box, late last summer when the pullets where just coming of laying age, I shooed him out because I was afraid he was going to try to roost in it! 🤦‍♀️Now I only have about 5 of 17 hens that will lay in the boxes. Time to revamp, and hopefully encourage my Roos interest. Thank you for the great tip!

Yes that's an honest mistake! @livingwithedenstreasures
@livingwithedenstreasures 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm sorry your little duckling is having this issue... soooo he did get better for a while and then as he got heavier he got to where he couldn't walk... what we think happened is he one day was missing the band aid and we couldn't figure out which duck was him with them all running around together after the band aids first came off so we were like yay!!! It worked and then we were able to tell he was waking a little funny and then it got worse.... I think if we had been able to kept it on him longer it would have totally fixed it but since it was too short of a time it improved enough that he was walking but not enough to totally realign proper stance and then when he got heavier he couldn't support the walk in this wrong stance... so I think if we had known he needed more treatment time and able to do that we would have had a different out come... the water treatments and band aids did help tremendously though

I didn't try the band-aid method as her leg was also kinda bent badly, so I didn't want to put her in any pain, and I just raised her B3 vitamin amount through supplements, as I'm pretty sure a defiency is what caused her leg issues in the first place. Fortunately though, she seems to have gotten way better, she nows gets up and puts pressure on the really bad leg and would even walk for a bit! I tend to think that she'll get better, as she also drinks and eats well now. I tried the bath method and the leg exercises too before that, and I'm certain those helped a bunch as well. @livingwithedenstreasures

Hey I'm so sorry.. I didn't see this comment till now... we ripped all the flooring out and treated it with ozone.. I'm good in the bus except after a long while our gray water tank started getting moldy so had to treat that and during 1 winter we had mold get going under the mattresses so treated that with ec3 mold spray and got coconut fiber mattress pads so the mattresses were able to breath and dry out and not be right against the cold platform and the warm body heat against it causing condensation.. since then we haven't had any mold issues with anything but the gray tank.. we are putting special enzymes in that werkly-biweekly to help with that. We ran the ozone multiple times during the building process to help knock down mold on any materials and also fogged with ec3 mold solution to kill mold spores and neutralize any neurotoxins. It's my safe place. I don't have to wear my mask in the bus for mold like I do outside and most peoples houses so that's a big deal for me... we also keep a dehumidifier going all the time too but if we were in a dry climate we wouldn't need to do that

Why are public schools now trying to teach reading by sight words. I found out that my granddaughter wasn’t being taught phonics and she couldn’t read. So I had to back up and start teaching her the correct way to read. Her self esteem was hurt in just two years and she is afraid to even try. So I’m trying very hard to get her to enjoy it and learn, I’ve told her even me her 75 year old grandmother uses phonics how to spell big words. I am so mad that the teaching methods with common core are so wrong. Mathis bad too because there isn’t enough practice and they are trying to teach multiplication by the most complicated methods like counters, number lines, subtracting but they don’t want them to memorize them. I’m going to teach her to memorize them. They are failing the American children.

I agree! It hurt me not being taught phonics... but as far as sight words goes its not new.. even in the same schools some years they teach phonics and other years they do sight words.. it's been a trend since Dick and Jane. Just depends on the teacher and the year and the school. But yes common core is horrible! We use a math curriculum from the 1800s for our children!

@Rachel E (Hickory Hill Homestead) Hey! I got the notification for your comment but for some reason when I came to the video to reply I can't find your comment so I hope you see this... You see me wearing a mask when I'm outside because die to chronic lyme disease and mold illness I became highly allergic to smells... many things whether chemical or natural... even the smell of many foods... even organic essential oils even will break me out in hives and close my throat up... but I especially became very effected by mold even the natural mold in the dirt and air. I have to be very careful with what comes into our living space but I've got the living space where I don't need a mask but if I go outside I can immediately smell the mold from the dirt.... so the mask I wear are N99 or N95 and have carbon filters that can filter out mold spores. That has added a lot of peace to my life and helps me be able to go places that I couldn't before. Though it's a pain to breath through a mask it is better than my throat closing and not being able to breath. When I first started wearing a mask it was a few months before it became "cool" and I was so self conscious everybody was going to think I had some horrible illness lol... I just had to wait a few months and then became self conscious because of people thinking since I'm wearing a mask I'm one of those giving away our freedoms or the silly person wearing it outside when no one around scared of "the virus".. well none of those are accurate lol and I will be one wearing it in the car alone or outside alone or even in the bath if I smell mold lol... but not for the same reason.

Bless your sweet little tender-hearted son who hesitated on eating the quail. My eldest daughter is vegetarian since she was 6 months old. I could never get her to eat meat. Her brothers' pointed out that potatoes have eyes, so she changed it to "anything the ever had a face." She's 26 and lives on a plant based diet. Her brother in law, who is in grammar school, played a joke on he once and bought animal crackers, and broke all of their faces off to tease her. :P

Several generations ago (my grandmother and her family) they lived off the land, and farmed and raised their own food. Speaking for myself, I think I was so out of touch and spoiled and such a city girl. I never thought about where my food came from. 3 years ago, I started a garden, and growing some of our own food. I was inspired by Homesteaders that I watched on KZbin, 1000s of roots. I'm learning so much. I'm proud of your daughter for stepping up and helping with the quail. It was surprisingly not as gory as I imagined. I liked what you said to your son about the quail giving it's life up, and thanking it and thanking God for the provision. Aww thank you for sharing!! Most kids and even adults are so disconnected they have no idea where their food comes from! I'm so proud of you! Glad Kip and Carrie helped you so much! My nephew came to our house years ago.. he was 10 years old.... he saw my chickens and asked why did we have them. I told him for eggs and one day hope to have enough to eat... He laughed and said "Kaleigh, we don't eat chicken! ".... I replied, "You eat chicken all the time! ".. he laughed again like I'm the dumb kid lol.. "Kaleigh that's not REEEAL chicken! "... I found that so strange that he thought he was eating fake chicken.. I understand when you don't see it die you don't have that image in your mind but still I was shocked he thought it was fake... But that's what most kids probably do think. I've heard so many stories from farmers.. like one farmer.. they have a fall set up for kids to come for hay rides and petting zoo, corn mazes ect.. they had big bales of cotton out and 1 kid asked him.. "how many sheep to you have to kill to get all that cotton" 1 cotton doesn't come from sheep.. 2 you don't kill sheep for wool lol Or one kid asking a gardener about planting seeds to grow spaghetti I don't like the butchering but I know it happens every time we eat meat just we have peace of mind of not seeing it happen.. actually for me to be out there to film while it's happening This year is a big step for me.. normally it's really hard for me and I actually have a hard time eating that meat (even though I know it's the best way) but it shouldn't be that way and I'm trying to have my kids not feel that way like me and hopefully get better myself.. I'm improving. We are so disconnected. This would have been a daily thing at one time not that far ago to eat each day and now it's so repulsive most wouldn't want to eat it after seeing the butchering. It shouldn't be this way.. if we are willing to eat it we should be willing to eat it when we know what happened.. speaking to myself

Years ago, I read that John Robbins (the heir to the Baskin-Robbins fortune) denied his fortune because he felt that the meat and dairy council of America was pushing for overconsumption of these products. There are many people who consume meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He did studies and found that countries that rely on more of a plant based diet tend to have less health problems. If you eat meat, it's definitely better to raise it and eat it without all of the GMO feed, antibiotics, and steroids. I have one daughter who never ate meat even as a child. She would flat out refuse to eat it. She is 26 now, and has no allergies, but my other children do. I always wonder if she'll be healthier in the long run. The funny thing is that my mom used to always say that she pretended that the meat came out of the ground. I thought about that when you mentioned what your nephew said.

Lol! It was intentional.. thought more people would click on the video thinking we had a real bear lol!😆.. He is expressive! Makes me happy! Michael reads quiet and without expression (not mono tone but lacking volume and emotion)... I read differently.. not all crazy with expression but enough to be clear who's taking and what they are thinking and feeling
